Okay, so I find that I want to kick myself in the ass for finding out that y'all exist. Seriously, realizing there's a sort of brotherhood out there with guys giving advice, helping out, and just relating to problems many of us has had is a great find! I've thumbed through some of the posts and I can see that a lot of you are genuinely interested in helping each other out, and I think that's great!

So this is my first post here and hope I don't bore anyone, but I could use the critiquing. I've been on and off online dating sties for around 8 years I think. Have had a few successes, but mostly non starters or out and out failures. I've only recently begun to research techniques relating to good opening messages, profiles, and how to build rapport. The ironic part? Most of it I've already been doing, as it's really common sense.

Introduce yourself, make a joke or funny ice breaker but NO lines, prove you read their profile, then end with a question. Nothing too short, too long, no one word sentence's, nothing creepy stupid or sexual, don't call them beautiful or make it seem like you're a pic hunter, etc.

Now if it's my looks that's hindering me, fine, I'm pretty much average I guess. Not ugly by any means but not a 9 either. But as far as I'm concerned I think my messages are pretty good as well as profile. Yet, here I am, so obviously I'm doing something wrong.
