Hello. Name is Redrobot. Pleasure to meet you all.
A little about myself. I'm 31, Live near Austin,TX and freelance as an illustrator. Why I decided to investigate the pick up community is that frankly, I'm tired of being alone.
At 31, I've never had a real relationship, a girl friend, been kissed, or came close to even having sex with a woman. Frankly, I'm sick of it.
I've had girls tell me that they like me, but I always get stuck in the friends zone. The last time I even went out with a girl, she ended up making out with another guy right in front of me. I'm pretty sure that guy was a PuA as well judging the game he ran on her.
When I was in college, I got the sickness over one girl and spent 3 years chasing after her. That was where I came across "Double your dating" by David Deangelo. I will admit that it did work at first and I was able to get her to a point where she was asking me out on dates. But then she would flake out on me and tell me it was my fault. My problem there (looking back at it now) was that I put too much energy on one person when I should've been getting experience talking to a lot more girls.
After graduation, I was pretty much broke and had to move back home. I started getting addicted to online gaming and my social life shrank to zero. I would get the occasional commission/assignment, so I wasn't really broke, but never made enough that I could get out on my own. Finally in '10 my family decided to relocate to Austin, TX.
Originally I wanted to work in video games as a concept artist/storyboarder. After attending a conference downtown, I realized that career wasn't for me. So I became pretty aimless once again.
A producer I had done some art for got back in touch with me in '12 and asked to see if I would be interested in writing some original screenplays for his production company. Since then I've been studying screenwriting and have finished 2 scripts that are currently in review.
After all that writing, I realized that I really wanted to get into movies as a writer and director. I will even start taking some courses in film/video production.
What I would love to learn with pick up is not only being able to finally find a great girl, but to increase my self confidence, my ability to network and meet new friends, to push my career forward, and finally get out on my own.
I've been reading "The Game" by Neil Strauss, watching Adam Lyon's youtube videos, along with other working PUAs in the field for the past couple of weeks.
Its starting to rub off on my and I hope I can push it further.
It took a lot of courage for me to introduce myself. So please be gentle in your replies.
Thanks a bunch,
Redrobot

Thank you very much for your kind reply. I wanted to come in honest and sincere. What good would've been if I made up stuff about my past when I'm trying to improve my future.
