I guess you can find a lot about texting on this forum. What I read so far seems right to me!

# No Dependancy; make me feel like you don't really care (yet)
# Playfulness; make me laugh
# Don't take it too seriously
# Don't take yourself too seriously; joke around, laugh about your mistakes, be transparent.
# Unexpected messages. Suddenly start talking about something else, ask funny questions, surprise her!
# Let her know you like her, but don't overdo it! For instance, if appropriate just say "hey I like you" and immediately ask a question "oh by the way, when was the last time you've done something crazy?"
# Tell her about your fascinating life!!! Let her know how cool it would be to hang out with you. "I'm going hiking this weekend, how about you?" "Last year I jumped out of a plane, that was so fucking scary!" (only if the stories are TRUE of course)

I second the excellent advice from Krista. Just try to keep it short, but intriguing. don't give your whole life story, but at least try to further the conversation. Also, timing. Don't wait too long to respond (that's rude) but feel free to take some time - that way it'll give you time to think of a good response and also keep her on her toes
