I realized recently that I met a couple of PUAs - or natural PUAs a few years ago and have really positive memories with them. I'd thought, because of other PUA boards, that the, er, movement was shallow and cruel. But reading here, its nice to see the community also extols, essentially 'leave her better than you found her.'
A lot of this seems more like self-respect - like not automatically paying for dinner (why the hell do guys DO that?) - than manipulation. Owning oneself and ones own actions is a good thing. I imagine a lot of you achieve more success in the workplace with the same techniques. Well, not touching the boss in a sexy way, of course, but recognizing the lack of importance of any one individual. Not buying into inequality of power, and so forth.
The PUAs I met gave me a really great time (admittedly we didn't do the nasty, but I was in their city for an internship and they were good guys). They weren't conventionally sexy. In fact, we met at an anime convention, so if any of you think that being a 'nerd' or 'geek' limits your access to lady bits, I hope you forget that too.
And lastly - you're not using someone if you give them happiness too. It's a mutual exchange of benefits. You might like this: Studies have shown that women are equally receptive to one night stands IF they believe they will enjoy themselves.
I might not hang around, except perhaps to incorporate the disaffected confidence into my work-life, but Kudos on not being assholes.
