I am writing this quick post as I am a bit fed up of seeing the same questions and assumptions in other areas of the forum and guys on here constantly asking for tips, and from experiencing difficulty finding a good place to start when getting into PU, as it is not that obvious. I know that I don't have a large post count or anything but I have been involved in PU for a while, but only recently registering on this forum - though I'm not claiming to be a master or anything.

If you're new to PU then please read The Game. It doesn't matter if you don't like Style or Mystery's methods, just read the book to get a good introduction to the world including terms, techniques and important people. You don't need to follow the techniques to the letter but all PUA methods interchange and relate to each other in some way, and you need to develop your own method, one which works best for you. If you want further reading then read books like The Mystery Method or Rules of the Game, or a book by whatever guru you like. Don't worship any single guru and don't focus too much on one method - keep an open mind and try bits from a variety of different methods. Most techniques are found in a variety of different PUA methods, so just try bits of them all and make a method which works for you.

Secondly take note of the important articles provided for you in the Stickies at the top of this Forum page - entitled 'Worthwhile Threads' and the rules. You don't have to read them all, just those which you feel apply to you. Some of my personal favourites include Ways which the seduction community can make you weird, Common mistakes and other ones on Inner game and Confidence building (Sorry, I can't post links).

Take heed of the information provided.

Now I'm not pretending to be a guru or anything, but read The Game and any articles which interest you on this site (keeping an open mind and leaving your ego at the door) and you're well on the way to being a PUA.

Also, the best advice? Practice, Practice, Practice! Fuck your AA. Chances are you'll never see the girl again. Also, what's the worst that can happen? She ignores you and walks away. Oh well. Don't take it personally! She's probably a bitch, or has a lot on her mind. Just laugh it off - remember, it's just a game. Practice new techniques, meet different people and practice in new and varied areas. Regardless of what happens, stay positive, have fun and enjoy yourself!

Don't let this over-run your life and don't take it too seriously - see it as a hobby. Don't forget your friends, hobbies and interests - after all, these all contribute to your "attractive lifestyle", and so you should keep them up.

I have a lot more advice I could give but I don't have time just now, and frankly, this is a forum and topics like this need discussion and addition from others, but I would recommend improving your looks (plenty of articles online), Focus less on meeting women and more on meeting people in general to improve your confidence and social skills, do the Newbie Mission and try various exercises or challenges to improve confidence and inner game, as well as practicing good body language. Be Hygienic, speak loudly, clearly and slowly, and above all, remember - have fun!.

If anyone else has useful advice for new guys starting out then please post and help them out!

Thanks :)

Really good advice. "The Game" is a great start whether you agree or not. It's a great way to develop a base of information.
