I am fortunate to have a good sense of style and better than average looks, or so I've been told (by women and men), yet despite this I have only dated two girls for very brief periods of time. Both relationships were weak.
I have decided enough is enough. I recently began going out (by myself) to random bars and restaurants and attempting to talk to girls I don't know.
Any advice on this? Is anyone else doing the same?

Ever heard the expression "Whenever it rains, it pours"? Most people are easily influenced by outcome. If shit doesn't go your way 3 times in a row you start feeling unworthy of things going your way. And that influences your future actions, leading to more failure, leading to a worse mentality. It's a downward spiral.
Overall you're not bad, as other people have told you. You just think you are, deep down. Which reflects on your outer self.
No shame in going to bars alone. Takes more balls than going with a friend too. You just gotta break the habit and you'll be fine.
