Yes I know. That's why I am here; to learn, and to seek verification that I'm the only one who sees my issues as issues.

Growing up as the only child who was an overweight unpopular introvert means I did not know how to interact socially until I was in my 20s. And even then I had massive self-esteem issues. Most if not all of my successful encounter with women has been either because I was in the right place at the right time, or did something that caught the eye of a girl I wasn't even going after. Whatever attempts I've had trying to court women voluntarily has been rather disastrous, mainly because I didn't know how to read the signs and back off when I should.

If you guys can see me going about my daily life you guys would scream, "How is this guy not getting any woman he wants?", because I know a lot of my male friends thinks that. But I'm oblivious to which woman find me attractive and I don't dare to simply approach them because I have this inner fear of coming across as creepy.

What I really need is reassurance and a bit of 'hand-holding' to ease me into a world I am totally unfamiliar with, and terrified of.

amazing! that is the kind of drive i like to hear!

if she is holding conversation with you it is safe to assume she is at least a little interested in you and that is all you need. women are weird and they go in cycles, one minute they like you the next they think you are a creep then 5 minutes later they like you again like in an up and down wave. men on the other hand are like a straight arrow, we see a girl and we are instantly attracted, we use logic and women use emotion. so with that being said if she is talking to you you are usually doing something right - it may sound overly simplistic but thats the way it is.
