| Post subject: | Toronto Lair |
When I first moved to Toronto I looked around for a lair of sorts. I was looking for a group of like-minded guys who wanted to hang. I was hoping to meet young, successful men like myself to network and pick up girls with. I posted up on a couple PUA forums to see if there was interest in this type of lair and I heard back that a couple already existed. Naturally, I was intrigued. I went to 3 meetings at one "lair" and 1 meeting at another "lair". I was hoping to meet graphic designers, writers, musicians. Doctors, lawyers, engineers. People with amazing talents or advanced social skills. I was stoked. What I found was "lairs" being organized by self-proclaimed mPUAs so they could sell boot camps. Now correct me if I'm wrong: Aren't lairs supposed to be a bunch of guys that get together to share their knowledge with each other? So why are so many people trying to get groups together to sell their product? I can't assume for every one of these guys but I can tell you the conclusion I've come to. Start-up PUA lairs have become the equivalent of a free class at a gym. The coach lures you in with free sessions and teaches you different techniques for the first few classes. By the end of the week he's trying to get you to buy a 6 month training package. The problem I see with this is the structure. I'm by no means a novice with women. I'm by no means the most experienced either. I do get consistent results. A lair is supposed to be men of all skill levels hanging out and learning together. Not a teacher up at the front leading classes every week. This is where these lairs fail. New plan for a lair in toronto: Grab beers at a Frikin. |
