Post subject:  match your target's pace!

So I just wanted to stress to you new guys how important it is to carry yourself in a walking situation when talking to an HB. You've opened, and locked her in. Do not make the mistake of matching her pace, especially for HB9s and 10s. YOU should be marking the pace. Walking slowly, and confidently. Not too slowly, however, because then she will question your sobriety, but slow enough where SHE has to slow down her pace. If she is a fast walker, but is engaged in the conversation, she WILL slow down if you slow your pace. This not only lets her know that you are confident in yourself and do not NEED her, as i see many AFCs walking quickly to keep up with the HB, but you are also DHVing yourself in a very positive way.

General tips on walking from classes/in streets/what have you: Walk slowly, casually, chin up, make EC with people, smile, act like you know something about life no one else does. You are ahead of the game, there is no problem with showing it through your stride.

AKA "the cape walk" if you were super man and had a cape, how would you walk? hope this helps. -Rye

I found an awesome way to slow someone down but it takes a bit of convincing. As you are walking look for something interesting... flowers, interesting fence, lawn gnomes.. whatever. If you have established a bit of interest with the HB stop suddenly and say " look, isn't that interesting?" Pull out your cellular phone and do a quick snap... she will want to see what the picture looked like as we are all curious about pictures, specially females. If you have other interesting pics you can then convo on what you have and she will be standing beside you.. then continue on with your conversation..etc.
