As a complete beginner, I was wondering if some of you more advanced guys would share your stories of how you changed from an AFC to a PUA. What did you read? What did you do? How long did it take you? Right now I'm at a point where I've read alot of material over the past few months but I haven't encountered much success out in the field. |

How to become a PUA? Three things to do: Practice, practice and practice. Just keep doing what your doing and you'll improve. My story: Like many non-naturals I was an AFC for most my life. I was a nerd, wimp, wuss and sissy. I was an outcast from the outcasts, need I describe myself further? I didn't get into pickup until my last year of college and didn't start getting good at it until several years later. Till this day I don't really consider myself a PUA, I just use the stuff to be who I really am. Anyway, I was very interested in NLP at the time and was reading anything I could get my hands on. Eventually I got to Ross Jefferies and liked the idea very much, but didn't do much with his stuff. About three years ago I started reading David DeAngelo's stuff and was hooked and started reading everything I could on the subject. Now my whole life is turned around. I am the kind of cool, the pro in provocation, and there isn't a soul alive that can get my spirits down. success isn't a dream anymore, it is inevitable. And I am more than happy if I can help others like me become more of themselves and make the most of their lives. |

I didn't know there WAS a community until my old roomate brought home The Game when he got back from christmas vacation, less than a year ago now. I got instantly hooked and wanted to become a PUA, but no one around me was interested and it slowly waned, but I kept using the theory, although not actively working on my game. Then I went to a big music festival, where hooking up is supposed to be easier than fishing with dynamite an I just didn't know how to approach and to build attraction properly. Everyone was interesting and able to hold conversations and build attraction, so I wasn't anything special. Then I got home, re-read The Game and decided to dedicate myself much more this time. I have been working on perfecting my inner game since then and although I don't have much chance to opperate in the field because of work and lack of money and just where my life is at the moment, when I do go out, I always make a point of opening at least a few sets a night. |

Well I have always naturally operated in GM style. I am a big proponent of NLP and NAC and I discovered the PUA community about 5 years ago, and found a great outlet to contribute, brainstorm, and get criticism from like minded individuals. |
