| Post subject: | Reacting correctly to a U-Turn? |
i dated this guy end of 2009 for 2 months (long distance), nearly became a couple, but he really messed up big time in the end (cheating) and had a sudden change of heart.it ended in a big fight, told him never to contact me again and ignored his sms on the day of the "break up". no more contact since. 3 weeks later he was together with someone else, so possibly/probably something was going on parallel. now (3 months later) they broke up (as seen from the single status in internet profile) and totally out of the blue i get an sms from him 2 days ago: back then i bought him a concert ticket that we were supposed to attend together, the concert took place a few days ago..so on the night of the concert: "thanks...the concert was amazing. hope you are doing fine.." he signed it with the nickname i used to call him when we were dating/ term of endearment. all i did was to send back "nothing to thank! all is good with me.." so my question: if he wants to get back in the game he relly needs to apologize for what he did in an appropriate manner..coming back like that and acting like nothing happened baffles me. i didnt want to adress that in my sms, i think that should come from him without a special invitation. was my response adequate? any suggestions/comments on how to proceed? |

If you want him to apologize. You need to get this out of the text zone and arrange just have a good phone call. If he does not apologize on the phone, draw your conclusions and shoot him down. But at least talk about it. The text thing is obiously stupid. Just be the one to take the first step. This gives you the advantage. Althoug it does not seem so. greetz da Bucc. |

the problem is that what happened is really severe and ended in a huge fight..it would be far too soon to initiate a call and i dont want to be the one suggesting that, since he is the one that really screwed up big time without a doubt.. yesterday he looked at my internet profile and wrote me a message making a trivial compliment about my new tattoo...i responded by saying that i am not willing to enter the small talk because i did not forget what happened 3 months ago and that maybe one day he will find the right words to adress the issue.. he didnt respond to that, but today morning he visited my profile again.. |

Totally cutting contact is not going to make you feel better. Give him the chance to find these right words. Excellent response you gave there. wonder what happend though? Did he cheat or something? Most times people do not hurt other people on purpose and if they do, then they are seriously screwed up. Keep working this up and try to get back in touch face to face. Or let the other party make the move... greetz Bucc. |
