| Post subject: | Getting mixed messages from different PUAs |
Okay, so am I supposed show interest in the girl, or not? I keep hearing different things; such as being indifferent towards a girl helps build attraction. But then I hear that using eye contact is essential because it does indicate interest. Which one is it? |

I believe eye contact is more of a power thing. If you break eye contact with a target, you're going to lose the power of the approach. It shows you're not intimidated by their presence by keeping the contact. Same way it works with a lot of bullies. Make them break eye contact with you, they'll likely backdown. That aside PUAs are going to tell you many different things. It's important that you put in the effort to seeing what each of these gurus have to say and find what portions work for you. Make your own style of pickup ybintergrating them together. Read "The Game" and you'll see what I mean. Strauss visited many different gurus, although Mystery was his main influence. |

I think most puas would agree that you don't want to show interest in the first 10 minutes of talking to your target. It's ok to show IOI's (indicators of interest) once you know that she's already attracted to you. Make her EARN your IOIs though. Remember, you're the prize. |

The reasons you're getting mixed messages are very simple: 1) Not everyone who claims to be a 'guru' actually is. 2) Not every 'guru' is from the same social setting, cultural region, etc. Different things work in different places. 3) There is no magic bullet, as Savoy puts it, or no walkthrough guide like some video game. This is real life, and everyone is different. Some girls like this, some like that, some are crazy, some are smart, etc. 4) Different things work for different people, take for instance the difference between my ideas and writings as apposed to Monkey, XFMAN, Romeo, or whoever. All of us are able to get girls, but all of us have our own way of doing it. I'm sure there are some similarities, alot in some cases. We all don't fit into the same type of persona, therefore some methods and ideas work more effectively for others. Besides, the idea isn't to learn one method to ensure you get a girl every night, it's to learn how to become a better, more socially apt person. My advice, take a little bit of knowledge from everything in life, then make your world from that. |

I haven't read other replies, but here's my take on it. Keep eye contact, it's very important for several things. Not making eye contact throughout talking just makes you look shady and weird. BUT a couple times while talking, look away at something while talking for a longer period than a few seconds. Make it seem like you're interested in something else and when she asks you about what the hell you're looking at, tell her it's nothing and look back at her and continue the conversation. Do this a couple times and she'll think that there's something more interesting than her around. But again, if you keep doing it you just look insecure and shady. |

You should read up on it, it's an excellent observation, and something I definitely want to work into PU when I've worked past my approach issues. |
