I'm talking about ratios of successes to failures, such as if you try an opener and it works on an average of 1 out of 3 sets is that considered a failure or a success? the reason I need to know is i need a good estimate of how long it will take to see if something is working vs. when to cut my losses and try a different technique. I know there are different factors such as your looks, the environment etc. but I think its a pretty good question. Thanks |

It is a very analytical question, and I'm going to throw a very non-analytical answer at it: Does it _feel_ like it's working? One in three girls respond to an opener? You're not opening right, and it has nothing to do with the line. There are other things you need to take into consideration (your body-language, are you dropping a time-constraint, etc, etc) that will determine your success ratio with openers. And you'll feel when it's wrong. You have an internal measure of what a good interaction is supposed to feel like, and when it's going well, you'll know. Understanding when, why and how to do something is called calibration, and it takes practice and experience. But as you get deeper into it, you'll find that it becomes more second-nature, and less about analyzing every detail. |

A mate of mine who is a natural once said, the art of PU, is a number's game. The more sets you approach, the more practice you get. With more practice comes more precision. With precision comes mastery. Remember you've got to learn how to walk, before you can run in the art of PU. And terms of success will be defined by your self, success is the self imposed goals that you set and want to exceed. |
