From my experience, picking up in an airport is the same as anywhere else. I picked up a stewardess one time with a tattoo opener. I asked what it meant, and she told me that it was a sorority thing. She said she was from texas, but recently moved to my area. I asked her what she liked about texas vs my area. Then I offered to show her around and she said okay. She wrote her number on the back of her headcount sheet.
I'd say use any creative opener, and city opener would work well too, since the majority of the people you meet are from various places that you could ask questions about.
