Everyones had one, there first approach ever. I want to hear everybodys story, especially you mpuas. I think it'd be good for newbies to put a story with the man we all look up to

I was 16 at the time. It was at a teen club.
She was giving me heeps of IOIs; lots of eye contact and always dancing near me.
I went up to her and sed "do you want me" (I noe, LAME!)
but it worked.
I got to A3, but from there i was absolutely clueless as to how to continue. I couldn't build any comfort.
We exchanged phone numbers but i never called.

@ Gavin - In the scheme of things, I am a newbie as well, and I honestly can't recall my first approach.

One of my first really successful approaches was in college (I didn't call them that or really know what I was doing despite having a pretty successful dating life prior to that). We were having a party at our place for my roommates birthday and the it got pretty out of hand.

The cops came and we got off with a warning. When the cop left, I approached the girl I wanted to talk to all evening and told her that I didn't appreciate her getting the cops getting called on us. This worked particularly well because she'd basically sat on the arm of the couch and not said a word to a male all night.

I had try to 'pick her up' if you will prior to this at other venues and was very much demonstrating her at a higher value than myself and was in the friend zone. When this approach (and I proceeded forward with various material) worked, I slowly started to 'get it' and to understand the nuances of 'game.'

I was sitting at a bar with my friend in downtown portland..An older girl came and sat to my left and actually opened to me. We chatted for awhile but it wasn't really going anywhere.. then i asked "so how old are you, 22, 23?" I said this obviously knowing by her looks she must have been 28, 29, or 30..
The comment caught her off guard and made her blush..she was very flattered..This changed the tone of our conversation and i ended up getting her number about 5 minutes later..

I made that comment using a tip from this site....rather then ask how old she was...i guessed instead, this made her think i actually thought she was several years younger..

The first approach I did after learning pick up was a group of girls sat at a table. 4 of them to be precise. I was out with the guy who was teaching me and another PUA.

It was not quite a bomb, tho it was pretty close. I opened them and they were not very responsive. I panicked and was out of there fast.

Thing is it probably was the best thing to happen. I was buzzing from the experience and I realsied i felt great even tho i messed up. How great then would it feel if i was actually successful. This made me want to approach more because i knew when i was finally successful the feeling would be awesome.

Now i always look on the bright side of any situation :D

I know that feeling.

After talking to a guy I met on this forum all day. We made the decision we'd hit the club that night and get our first few approaches out of the way. We wouldn't worry about anything but just opening.

My first approach I was this club going after a 3 set. There were two 7s and one lower HB. I used "Who Lies More" without fail. I was talking way too loud trying to compensate for the music, and I completely screwed up and forgot to deliver the false time constraint. I remember the set hooked, I managed to get in a few negs, and then I was struggling. Even though I had been practicing all day with my buddy I quickly ran out of things to say, and ejected saying I had to meet up with some friends.

I went to the sidelines and found my buddy.

my first PUA style approach was a week ago. i had read many openers and chose the one i was most confortable with, my own version of the lie one. actually i went shopping a bit before and had the perfect 'under the radar' outfit with bags of clothes... yet i couldnt approach the groups i saw. it was like my head was focusing on it but my legs ran away. as i was on my way back home i noticed a lonely girl and went straight to her. as soon as i arrived, she was very reactive and kept smilling pretty much the whole time. but as i ran out of things to say, i left the set... i could have done much better, yet i was very satisfied with that first approach!
