Hey guys! I'm taking this class this semester, and in it we're divided into lab groups: it's me, a senior guy, and two senior girls. I'm a junior. Now, the guy is really nice (he's no PUA or natural, but he's nice. Not 'nice guy' nice, but actually nice.). He's been friends with both of the girls for a couple of years, and so whenever he says anything intended as a joke, the girls laugh. No, he's not that funny, nor does he have one of those goof personalities. He's normal. The girls are both really playful, and so whenever I say anything intended as a joke they go along with it. Also, I have been friends with one of the girls since about October. My problem is, they laugh at his jokes/stuff WAAAAY more than they laugh at mine. You know those moments when everyone is still laughing at something (STILL) you didn't think was funny and you're trying to hold a smile so you don't look odd? That's it. The guy'll say something kinda smart ass, and they'll CRACK THE FUCK UP. I'll say something and they'll laugh and play along. Do you see the difference I'm trying to show you? What I'm wondering is, how can I change this? I do NOT want to amog him in any way shape or form. He's not ANY funnier (and he doesn't have a 'funny personality') than I am, they just laugh at him a lot more. PS I am not being weird or needy with them. Thanks! |

Sounds like you're jealous. The real question you should ask us is, "Why do I give a shit?". The answer is because you view him as competition, right? Don't worry about him. Let it go. If he says something funny, then laugh. It's your entertianment. If he says something that isn't funny, don't fake a front to make him feel better, just don't laugh. Run some game on the girls. The more attracted a girl is to you, the more they'll laugh at your jokes; even if they're not particularly funny. I'm not that funny, but I can get a girl to laugh at my jokes anyway. It's because women want to please the men they like. |

I'm just wondering here, what the hell kind of facial expression are you supposed to make when everybody around you is cracking up, and you didn't think it was funny? I would think that you should just laugh.Quote: Run some game on the girls.
What exactly does that mean? I have the Lovesystems Routine Manual and Magic Bullets, but could you give me some examples of what you mean?

I've been in your situation plenty of times, I've had luck a few times too. Here's what: You must use him as a platform to boost yourself off of. For example, get to know the dude, build rapport with him first. If the girls see you two as being "friends" they will begin to assume you two are very similar. Play along with his jokes. Add to them. Use the good SPAM he creates. If he says something that isn't funny, bust on him a little, come back with some witty stuff of your own. That'll almost give you a leg up on him. From here, you pick a girl, I know people say to keep your possibilities open but trust me. In this situation, you must pick one and concentrate on her. My thinking is this, he'll interpret that and he'll naturally take care of the other. |
