Post subject:  Advice on a girl who might be push/pulling me..
I am rather new to the forum but certainly not new to the material being discussed here. I have read the Mystery Method and have gone through these forums quite frequently but I definitely need advice on a situation...

I have known this girl from work for the past year or so and we do talk quite frequently (@ work when she's on break and she texts me alllll the time - even just to say hi sometimes - she gave me her # btw). Probably 6 months ago I finally gained the courage to call her & ask her out on a date. When I finally went out w/ her (starbucks), the vibe didn't feel right and I left it alone (picking up cellphone, acting shy, etc.).

I then started ignoring her and negged her on and off when she would try to interact w/ me at work. Negs didnt work all that well considering she seems kinda shy and not very self-confident, but yet she still felt like she was losing me when I would neg and try to interact more w/ me.

Well about 2-3 weeks ago, she sent me a text message:

Her: "Can I ask you a question?"
Me: "Sure...whats up?"
Her: "Do you have a girlfriend?"
Me: "No. Why? Who wants to know?" (maybe i should have gone wittier here, I dont know)
Her: "I was just wondering. I was curious"

and I left it at that. Again, I didnt know where to go from there.

After she asked about me having a gf and all, I had talked w/ a friend of hers from work and asked what her deal was. Friend says that she just recently broke up w/ her bf (whom she was going out w/ at the time I took her out originally - and subsequently told me at the time she didnt have a boyfriend), but also said that my name has come up a couple of times.

This past week (sunday) she came up to me at work:

Her: "Are you doing anything this tuesday?"
Me: "No. Why?"
Her: again with the "I dunno, just wondering"

I left it alone and we talked as usual. And before she left for the day she again asked me:

Her: "have you made any plans YET for tuesday?"
Me: "Yep.. U just missed out. I JUST made plans..sorry. Just kidding. We should definitely get together and do something though."
Her: "Yes. We really should"
Me: "Awesome. I'll call you tomorrow and I'll let you know whats up"

This was sunday & i call monday to no answer. She texts me tuesday morning to say hi and see what I was doing. I was at school and she asked me to call her when I get out. Class ends, I call, and she says she's at the Dr's office and will call me back afterwards. She does and I ask if she's still going to hang. I have class again in 3 hours and she makes up something like "by the time i get back in town.." yada yada yada and flakes.

She asks me if i'm mad and I said "no but i'm pretty sure i'll won;t make plans w/ a flaker again" and she laughs it off. We talk for a while and thats that. No further plans discussed (maybe another mistake).

Can any1 explain what is happening &/or what opportunities I can possibly open up? She acts really interested in me one second and then when it comes to crunch time she's disinterested. What gives???
