Hey guys, I haven't been to this forum in a long time, and I'd post this in the lounge if I could (requires 50 posts), but, I stopped reading up on the whole Mystery Method and actually going out and doing it. And I did try it a few times. It just doesn't feel like me when I tried it. And I get pissed off, because I feel like a girl should be able to accept you for who you are. The amount of work you have to do to get a girl, with all of the steps, is insane. And some of friends know how the whole method works, and they choose not to use it. It's TOO much work. Simple as that. I feel that if you have to do this much work, then it really isn't worth it. Making friends is a hell of a lot easier than doing this stuff. It feels out of place, weird, scripted, and it feels a lot like bad acting. There really must be a more natural, easier way to getting a girl. Seriously. Not to mention that the Mystery Method is really out there now, and too many people know about it, and girls are aware of it. Is the Mystery Method obsolete? |

The Mystery Method is just that, Mystery's Method! There's a lot of other methods publicized by guys and there's also the option of not doing any method based stuff and just learning the principles and being a natural. That's the way I teach and that's what most of my friends prefer because it isn't fake, it isn't a lot of work, it's a LOT of FUN. |

Juggler is a good one. He focuses mostly on conversation. More on showing your own value rather than trying to fake your own value. And yes, you can get a girlfriend, get laid and get married without this stuff. Remember, your dad is an AFC. ^__^ Cinnamon |

Just chill. Many of the "gurus" are gay men who are nothing more than showmen. If you think you will get girls because you wear makeup or sport a furry hat I have some ocean front real estate in Slovakia I want to sell you. The problem with nearly every single one of you is that you can't stand who you are. The energy on this board is terrible. A bunch of young guys trying to be something they are not. If I can feel it I promise you that every girl on this planet can as well. Once again...One of the true American success stories with beautiful girls is this guy... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xnodi8ZyEdE Boring looking and sounding, but he is the real deal. Pure confidence. That has always been his key. That and his profession |

Why is it that when a man sees another man who is more successful, more talented, better looking, and better with the ladies than he is, he has to call him "gay?" ok, it's true, you don't HAVE to be a PUA to get a girlfriend. Look around! AFCs get girlfriends/wives/etc all the time! But really, I don't know about anyone else, but I get tired of the same old same old when it comes to attracting people, flirting, and dating. I really think that all these tips, tricks, techniques, and "routines" do is gives a guy who can't think of the next thing to say, something to go off of. No one is here to tell anyone to change WHO they are, just how they approach it. And i've seen it over and over again on this forum...CONFIDENCE is key. When you start believing that you are the shiznit, you become it. This site is not about becoming a robot. It's about interacting successfully with women. And really, is it REALLY so much to ask that guys put a LITTLE effort into wooing women? So, to the poster above me (I didn't bother looking at your name) get off your high-horse. If you don't like it, don't come back. |

Yes, you can. I advise being yourself at all times too. Anything that encourages you to falsify yourself or "edit" your persona is a waste. |

I don't suggest being yourself. As Neil Strauss says: "Be your BEST self!" And really, the best style is to go the Thomas Edison approach: keep approaching women, ponder the interaction when you're finished, just keep interacting with females, and use what seems to work the fastest. but this requires your own personal EXPERIMENTATION! I've had countless death threats from boyfriends or husbands on email or MySpace, after I talked to their girl. think that stops me? Nope. Means I've touched a nerve. And I've made it my job to figure out exactly how to use that nerve to my advantage in pick-up. |

This is the position that I take. Moreover, as one who didn't do any of this experimentation in high school or college, I feel like I'm a little behind the curve. If I use any particular method, it's because I'm experimenting. I'm not committing to any particular guru. I'm trying to learn to flirt in a way that, ultimately, is uniquely my own.

Personally i understand what everybody has to say about this, its a touchy subject. But put it this way, if you are supposed to do a presentation to the board of executives in your company and you only know very little about it, if a person gives you a set of rules to follow and they allow you to deliver the presentation at a better standard only the most stupid man would say no... In essence the model is the same, these "artists" have created a comprehensive set of rules, that you dont need to follow, but if you do, and you put a great deal of yourself into them, they will give you what you want in return. There is no point in shunning something that could help you throughout life in many different areas. G |

i'm new to this and i don't plan to follow every step in the PUA book... when i read about PUA stuff, this is more an advice and material source. like some of you wrote, confidence is the key... if this approach works, and i believe it does, then it gives you confidence and you can truly be yourself from there... as long as you are sure of yourself, whatever method do work. |

My game is natural....I dont use a "method". That is wer most guy go wrong is thinking that it has to be work and that you cant become a natural....I did it and can say im now a "natural". Alot of it is learning about who you are and bringing that out....alot of us become or try to become somthing that we think others want us to be. I use negs, kino ect ect....but not on purpose its just natural game. I say whats on my mind and women love it....and if they dont then i ditch them. |

When I talk to a group of women I really have the mind set that I can have her if I want. Its not cocky I just really beleve that and that is what its all about man....build your self up to that point and you wont have any issues with being a so called "pua". We are all playing the same game bro....every guy wants to pick up a girl but not every guy knows how. |

Learning to see things from another person's perspective and understand their point of view is a really important skill, not only in pickup, but in life in general. I see this type of comment from you far too often, you really should work on it. I don't get the point of this... It just seems like you're trying to make everyone feel stupid for having this discussion, when in reality more people understand and have an opinion on what is being said than those that would agree with your point of view. You're the minority here, you're the one being close-minded and not bothering to even try and grasp what people are discussing, so honestly if you don't get it, don't be snide, just do like your mother MUST have told you and don't say anything at all. |
