I'm testing out some internet gaming, and going to certain chatrooms. There's like 10-15 people in the chatroom, and it just seems hard to... get the crowd's attention. I try to initiate conversations for everyone, or at least the majority, I try to talk to girls, and then carry on in PM... But it seems like I'm being ignored. Like everyone knows everyone, and I'm being excluded. You know, that's okay for a while. I can tolerate that, as long as I seem to be making some progress with every try. When I tell a joke, I'll sometimes get one person to laugh. I don't know. Just seems impossible to practice any sort of charisma in those chats without knowing everyone and their life history. It's frustrating, discouraging, and quite frankly, after trying unsuccessfully so many times, it's really starting to piss me off. |

Game is not played online in chatrooms or on forums - You'll never know if you don't go out and try it on real people. Go meet people! Have fun bro. |

both are right.. how are you goin to be better if not gaming real people in real life.. how can you say, you made a joke.. and someone laugh.. by putting LOL!?? i mean i could say LOL without even laughin.. i mean.. feed off the reaction you get from people in front of you.. that's the only way you can adapt.. and see the real IOI's.. pull away from your keyboard.. let go of your mouse.. shut down the computer.. take a shower.. wear the nicest clothes you have in your closet.. fix your hair.. go outside.. inhale the fresh air.. exhale the negativities.. talk to the first girl you see (not related to you).. and start showing her that you are a man! and that the day she spoke to you will be the turning point of her life! and so on... ... kind of got carried way.. but you see the picture? good.. have fun! and good luck! |

I'm disappointed at the huge assumptions being made. I practice real gaming. But my dream is to be a master of doing this in numerous forms, and that means mastering internet gaming. It's like learning more than one style of martial arts. That's what I want to do. If anyone has any tips for internet gaming, do share. |

Social cultures are pretty much the same everywhere. If you use your Internet strategy in real life, you'd still fail miserably. Here's why: You're a stranger in a group of people who know each other well. Instead of trying to EARN your alliances one individual member at a time, you're rushing the process by standing up on a podium trying to be the "man" of the group right away. It NEVER works like this in real life, virtual, or any where. And you run the danger of being the dorky-try to be cool guy that everybody can make fun of. All it takes is one alpha member of the group to go, "What a fucking loser . . ." and you're done. In real life, if I cold approach a tight knit group, I approach the alpha and that's it. We converse, converse, and converse until I EARN his trust and alliance. At this point, you can move on but still, one member at a time. Addressing the entire group takes time. You need to earn their trust. Also, in a group situation, you don't neg ANYBODY. You compliment them. Alphas rely on compliance. They need to see order underneath him to feel comfortable. As long as he's not threatened, he'll make sure that you're happy. (that's the alpha's job). The best way to do this is to take their topic and you build upon it. Get interested in their interests. Examples: Alpha: I'm so excited that I'm going to Vietnam to scuba dive next week. You: That's so cool . . . Hey, have YOU dived Thailand yet? That place is amazing. . . Alpha: I met this crazy chick the other day. She bought me flowers before we even met. You: That's hilarious. Maybe she's a crazy stalker or something . . . You get the idea. Befriend the alpha. They will take care of you. Then move on . . . Once you get the group's OK . . . you'll feel this . . . then if you want to, get up and address the whole crowd. |

I wouldn't waste your time on chat rooms. If you want to do online game get on a site like Hotornot.com or Plentyoffish.com and then create a cool profile, and good pics. Then send 3 or 4 different messages to groups of 10-25 girls. You'll see which one gets the best response and that's the one you use. Online game is like shooting fish in a barrel with a bazooka. S |
