Post subject:  Ran dry on the first run!
So i was out in a club in the queue at a bar when i spot a 2 set at the bar i'd say roughly a 7. I noticed the bar man was not serving them and serving the lads on the other side of the bar

I leant over to one of the girls and said

Me-Can't you flutter your eyelash's or something?
Her-I've tried that and he hasn't served me!
Me-(Watches him again serving the blokes to the right) are you sure he's not gay your obviously not his type!
Her- I think your right!
Me- Shall i try and take my top off and see if i get served before you
Her- (Laughs)

Then i left it at that and carried on about my business, i didn't know how to transition into something interesting to grab there attention. Although she was leant on the bar she didn't turn round to talk (as she wanted to get a drink) so i didn't get an IOI's.

Any tips guys? My first attaempt at a sarge was a flop!

hey man great try! You had her laughing and thats what important. No girl wants to sit there and talk to an uninteresting guy. But yeah, it was at that moment you should have gone in with no hesitation and introduced yourself and shook her hand. I know what your thinking "shake her hand, what the fuck" but dude trust me it makes them feel alot more comfortable with you. Anyways after that you could go off into a hundred different directions with the conversation. You could have told her "tell you what if I can get the bartenders attention can I buy you a drink?" then you could have asked her what bring you here tonight just all sort of different things to generate small talk. Oh sorry man I forgot to add something. By the way your attitude on how you look at things and approach can also affect you. Don't think of your first approach at a sarge was a flop. Man at least you tried and thats alotmore than most guys can say believe me. The main thing I had to learn was that when you do get rejected ( and its going to happen I do;nt care who you are) is that you have to get back up on the horse and ride that bitch again. Persistence is the key nobody gets it all right and has all the kinks worked out at first. You'll eventually learn what works and what doesn't. Good Luck.

I agree with most of the above, and would just like to reiterate that you did alright - don't beat yourself up. Rome wasn't built in a day and all that stuff.
The fact is, you looked at the situation they were in and opened with something about that. If anything, that is quite advanced for a complete newbie.

Yeah i agree...you did a great job opening, so just introduce yourself. You don't want to carry that joke out any longer or else it will get old. But you could have gotten her to invest in you by making a bet as to whom gets served first. Bet a drink to whomever can get the bartenders attention first...then make sure you get the bartenders attention so that she has to buy you a drink later. Don't collect it then. Establish more conversation then get her number. Be like, "let me get your number because you owe me a drink and you look like the type to run off with out paying up :)"

I shouldn't of hesitated i think i should have just gone straight into something else without stalling!

you had some good stuff but i would change this up. I would play a game or make a bet for a drink. You never wanna buy a girl a drink or offer unless you already know her. Not to be a jackass just make a bet. It will open up for other routines.

Op you did good on the opening just that you froze up right there. Even if she wasnt facing you you can get her to turn around here what i would of done in your situation

NonStop: I bet you a drink i can get his attention before you can.

At this point you can position yourself next to her or get her to acually face you.

many many possiblities. You got her to laugh i consider that an IoI you just need to get more.

Yeah your right

I could of asked her to bet who can get served first

Then said lets make it fair and got next to her so i could continue the conversation

The problems i have are finding things to talk about, i really need to come up with canned routines that i can reel off which hopefully will lead into other things!
