no, dont ask them. you'll come off as insecure if you do. it depends on how they say it and what made them say it. it could either just be them saying you're weird because you're different and interesting or because you're different and kinda creepy/freaky. if it was said playfully, its fine. in fact, its good. you can then reply with some sort of neg "the person who dresses funny thinks i'm weird, oh calamity if they say it with a straight face then you're going to have to tone down your weirdness. |

Common sense... look at her face, her eyes, her posture. If she is giving you positive body language then it's a good thing, if not, it's not. If she looks you up and down with her nose screwed up or with an eyebrow raised while she says it, or turns her body away while laughing, then it's definately not a good thing. But yeah if you're not sure how she means it there's always asking. In all honesty though it's best to just be positive either way, just be like "I know I am, you love it". |

Exactly. It's not what they say, it's how they say it. A girl can call you an asshole and mean it in a bad way, or it can mean that she wants to tear your clothes off and do things to you that you've always dreamt of.

This is usually good or neutral. By neutral I mean shit test. The reason is, they usually give you the cold shoulder SPAM (ignore you) or call you a lot worse things if you give off the creeper vibe. "Weird" is playful, and when I hear it from girls I always take it as an IOI. |

I would reply with "Hey thats not very nice... Dork" then smile to show its playfull =] its also a good time to kino by nudging them with your shoulder. |

In certain circumstances this would make you appear even more weird, so it again goes to a matter of context and reading her meaning, as well as how she will respond to that sort of thing. If she's calling you weird for being too playful and not serious enough, you're digging yourself into a deeper hole.

I like the above posts, especially the point about not getting insecure and asking about it. Whether she's just playing or she's actually thinking you're a freak, another option is to own up and sell/justify it: "Weird? Nah. Different? Hell yeah, and proud of it!" I always loved this interview with Andre 3000, who happens to be a pretty weird cat and a cool dude because of it. He mentioned that his mother used to always bust his balls when he'd get embarassed by classmates or when he'd try to conform: "Why do you want to be just another n****r?". Sometimes I actually use a similar anecdote to the Andre 3000 thing, and it tends to work pretty well because it suggests you're an individual who actually puts thought into what you're into instead of just doing what others think is cool. Being a follower is NOT alpha... Also, throwing it back at her in the form of a mild neg tends to work nicely: "Oh yeah, and you are TOTALLY normal? There's NOTHING about you that's a little weird? Right...." This gives her a chance to open up and say something about herself (unless she's so damn scared of you that she's just closing her eyes praying you'll go away). Once she does that, and if you can read that you've disarmed her a bit, you've got a good opening to build rapport with something like "Wow... We're a couple of freaks!" followed by some kind of kino (chummy arm around the shoulder, fist pound, etc.). There's a good expression to describe people who aren't weird in any way: FUCKING BORING. Some of the most serious players are "weird", so I say embrace it man. As you can probably tell, I'm a little "eccentric", so I've dealt with this before |
