Key word: EX. Now you just need to stop having oneitis or you won't be able to have a healthy relationship and you also won't be able to get with her to begin with.

I'd say it's best not to mention Exes in detail at all, but if the conversation is unavoidable then you have to do what you have to do. All is fair in love and war. I wouldn't flat out insult him though. The best idea is to use him as a tool to win over the target. Find out his faults and what she dislikes about him and show her how you are different than him. Use phrases like "he was a fool to treat you like that" or "If you were mine, I would never treat you that way". Women are suckers for lines like these.

I also remember a pretty good Nlp trick, where you talk about how it feels to be in love. All the butterflies and quicken heartbeats and stuff. While your doing that, you look right at her, so that the feelings transfer over to you. There is a you tube video about it, just look up "Ross Jeffries".

Rye Lee brought up a good point that I overlooked in my haste to give advice. You should deal with your oneitis before you persue your target, otherwise you will make too many mistakes and lose her. You need to put her in perspective and take her off that pedestal in your mind. Until you see her as she is and not an inflated version, you will not be able to have a healthy relationship.

If only every new person to the pick up community had that piece of advise pre-programmed into their brains... Oneitis isn't an affliction on you or the girl, merely a barrier between you and her that must be removed before communication can begin.

I think everyone has experienced oneitis at some point or another, takes a man with a heart of solid rock to have not experienced it.

Top stuff!!

I'm sorry Kalel, but I have to disagree wholeheartedly. I don't think you should ever say those lines under any circumstances, unless you are trying to make them just your friend. If you want to do something that achieves what you are going for there though, then say, "I never treat my girls like that" or "I can't imagine a girl wanting to be treated like that by me" or something that doesn't make it sound like you are intending on getting with her, merely commenting on the fact that you aren't like that conversationally.
