Make sure you address the guys and disarm them. A good opener would be "did you guys see the fight outside?" then maybe go into the gay cats routine after or something to keep them laughing and interested. If you win over the guys, then the HB's will be easy.

Canned stuff is great but don't ever over use it especially stuff that is completely bullshit like gay cats, unless something this ridiculous ever happened to you then you will come across almost as fake and guys especially AMOGs will see right through it.

By all means use the occasional canned opener but overusing the stuff is setting yourself up to Crash and Burn

You need to work on your inner game.

The way to keep the attention of everyone is to get eye contact with the audience, scan the faces.
Example: "So I was going down the hill on my old rusty bike from 15 years ago when I saw that great big loser from school, nerdy Sebastian, glasses, overbite... you know the type" Scan the audience, get eye contact with everyone! " But this time he had changed, he was not the annoying guy from school, he was a policeman and he signalled me to stop" Signal to one of the girls. "Man I was about to get pounded into pulp for teasing him during the entire schooltime but he just said: Hey I like your bike. In a very gay way." Here do the official gay gesture to one of the girls.

Ok that improvised story sucked but you get the point, this is the way to keep people from going away. It is short and it is funny. It has peaks of exitement and fear!

Okay, up until now I haven't opened many mix sets. A set with 2 girls is pretty easy because all the attention is on me after I open them. However, in a larger set that especially has many alpha males, the guys and girls in the group know each other very well and they share a lot of rapport and inside jokes. Therefore, it feels hard to direct the spotlight on myself because I don't know what to say. Should I have a different stack routine prepared to use on the obstacles? Am I going about it the wrong way?

You have to open the guys! As if there were no girls around or as if they were just some other guys. Open with whatever and shoot the shit with the guys, man style! You have no problems talking to guys normally right, these guys are just like you. Everybody wants to be the alpha but if you go in with the assumption that you are (needs inner game) they will often accept it. I find mixed sets easier to open, guys do not have any bitch shield. If they are AMOGs you just go in and blow them out, it does not take any special techniques just balls.

what I'm saying is i'm kind of bad at that. I run out of things to say. And while i'm disarming the guys the girls will leave the set cus they feel left out of the conversation or something. My friend told me I should just tell stories that have DHV spikes.

It has peaks of exitement and fear! I'm working on storytelling skills now. Have you taken a workshop from Kosmo by any chance? He emphasizes story-telling. My friend has and he's basically teaching me stuff that he learned from Kosmo. Some canned stuff works but I'm at the point in my game where I can tell what I'm doing wrong in my sets, but stuff like gay cat or some other unrealistic opinion opener will just get weird looks from your target / obstacle.

Fair play and i'm not entirely against canned material but stuff like gay cats cannot really be pulled off by someone starting out unless they genuinely know some girl that "had some gay cats blah blah blah...". On the otherhand "Hey I need your opinion on something" can be related to by just about anyone.
