Sorry but I wasn't sure how to search this one because I don't know what to call it: So I'm talking to a female co-worker that I'm attracted to. She is wearing a blouse and an unbuttoned shirt or sweater over that. During our conversation, and more than a few times, I notice she pulls her shirt/sweater closed (as though to cover her breasts), even though I'm keeping solid EC with her and making her smile with humor. I've seen this more than a few times with a few different girls, and each time the girl in question has a decent sized rack. Sometimes her shirt shows cleavage, sometimes not at all. So my questions are: 1. Is there a name for this phenomenon? 2. Am I possibly doing something to cause her to "cover up?" 3. Or is it general self-consciousness on her part? Maybe because she has a nice rack? I find it distracting and it affects my self-confidence, so I need some feedback! Thanks, -Klats |

They are lacking confidence, or feel like they are dressed slutty? I notice some (beautiful) girls do that, too. It's weird. But they obviously feel a bit uncomfortable. Or in some cases maybe she wants to perk them up a bit ? Push the cleavage up? |

Yeah, I definitely get the vibe that they feel self-conscious about the twins being too exposed.I notice some (beautiful) girls do that, too. It's weird. But they obviously feel a bit uncomfortable. Or in some cases maybe she wants to perk them up a bit ? Push the cleavage up? It's almost like, "Oops! I better wrap these up!" lol |

I don't think it's a bad thing. I think it may even be an ioi. Like now that she sees you in a sexual way she is more concious of her apearance. I know that women preening(running their fingers through their hair, adjusting their clothing, or anything that has to do with fixing their apearance) themselves in general is an ioi, I suppose her covering herself up is a form of preening. Maybe now that she sees you in a sexual way, she doesn't want you to get the wrong idea about her, like the anti-slut defense of her apearance. |

It depends on how she does it. If she adjusts her clothes around her boobs, that is possibly an IOI, she tries to attract attention. More likely though is that you were staring at her tits and that is the worst way to show interest... |

It can be of any of three things: 1. She is trying to draw your attention to her boobs 2. She is fixing her clothing 3. She feels a tad bit uncomfortable and she is putting on a "shield" around her. |

do you play poker? often I notice that in poker, whenever a certain card gets turned over and a player makes a big hand, they momentarily glance at their chips. as if to say "oh, that card was good for me, I want to bet, better make sure I have some chips" a woman's body is her poker chips. she's checking to make sure it's all there, because she likes what she sees and wants to make a bet. |

I've made sure not to do that...when I first began to notice girls doing this, it actually would draw my peripheral attention to their chests, but I made sure to never look down from the girl's face. That would be pretty obvious, I think, but that's also why the act of "covering up" is confusing to me. It actually DRAWS your attention to what they are doing. Some of you suggest that may be an IOI (and further thought on this makes that seem like a possibility to me), but the act itself seems to be a shield(like jurupa suggested)? Either way, I'm finding it tough to decipher. |

Hmm, I like that suggestion--that does make a lot of sense, and makes me feel less like they're trying to cover themselves from me. Thanks for putting that out there, Kalel.

loads of possibilities. self grooming, self conscious, wants to be seen as decent - or you keep staring V1V |

could be a few things; worst case, she thought you were a sleaze. But if she was friendly and not evasive after she did it, then i'd take it as a good sign. maybe she's nervous around you because she likes you and doesn't want to give away too much too early |

Oh yeah, that's exactly what I was afraid she (they) might have thought (for whatever reason-I certainly made every effort to not give that impression). But no, each girl this happened with remained friendly and conversive for the duration of the convo.worst case, she thought you were a sleaze. But if she was friendly and not evasive after she did it, then i'd take it as a good sign. However, another thing I thought of is that each of the girls that did this usually seemed to do it subconsciously while they were responding to a comment or question I asked. That is to say, while I was talking they were just listening, but when THEY spoke, they would do that while THEY began to answer me. It always seemed subconscious for them, even though to me it was something I could never NOT notice. Does that open any other theories about this act? |
