Basically i was out for a few drinks last night with my friends while watching the football in the bar. Admitedly I did have a scout around at half time to see what the scene was looking like but it was a bit of a cock fest and the game was higher on my list of priorities so i really did have little intention of opening any sets. Anyway the game finished and we went outside for a smoke, again i wasn't really looking to open any sets and i finished my drink and went to put my empty glass on a table without noticing the girl at first, without thinking i asked "can i leave this here?" referring to my glass and that was it, the set was opened. We got on really well and even some guy who had obviously left her and was clearly mad for her coming back didn't phase me. I kept a level head and tried to bring him into the conversation, although he talked to me with respect he clearly didn't like me moving in on this girl and he really didn't know what to do about it (i was chuckling inside when he left again) So he comes back to find her because they had plans and i ended up getting her number and resuming with the drinking. Basically is it good that i unintentionally opened up a set AND the way i acted around the guy who clearly had a thing for her? |

Its up to you. Morally I dont really give a rats ass about other guys unless they are in a serious relationship. Then I care a little maybe if they are lucky. Good from a technical point of view... |

It's not your fault if she wants you more. You opened and if they would have been together, you would have noticed. So just competing with him over this HB is not a crime, it just shows your skills as a PUA!  By the way, I like that you went out just to have fun with your friends and then just opened beacuse you happened to see this girl. This is good non-AFC status for you. You're definately not the guy who walks around alone with his beer and staring at HB's, at least not this time!

I don't think it's a question about good or bad.. Think about it: You were just being yourself and found a person you clicked with. It's perfectly natural to get her number. And if there's something serious going in between her and that guy, you'll find out later... and not until you do will you have a moral dilemma on your hands. If you go around being afraid of stepping on other peoples toes all the time, you will get nowhere. Make yourself top priority. And yes, it IS doable without being an ass.. Although I know from my own experience that sometimes it can be a very fine line.
