Hi guys, Need some advice, when i hit the clubs, im always dancing, i would consider myself a pretty good dancer. anyway, girls would approach me, come dance near me etc. and i would just ignore them.. x_x i don't know what to do in these situations. im a shy guy and its hard for me. Last friday i was at a club, i was with a few mates and 1 female friend. well, we get in and i have a look around, see a few chicks, we go get our seats in the corner, friend goes gets some drinks while i start dancing. i see a girl in a nice tight short dress, she looks at me, i smile at her and continue dancing. after a few songs i go to sit down next to one of her friends which is near our corner. there was a little bit of space between us and out of nowhere she comes and squeezes in. lol. i look at her and smile. she then starts touching my back. i get freaked out and stand to to leave. i know.. such a dumb move. hahaha i dont know what i was thinking, but these kind of thigns happen alot to me. i know i should just do it. but my nerves get the better of me. of course i've closed a few times, but mostly i just freeze. i've read a few articles on here about over comming AA. will start trying them out. any fellow members have any other advice for me? besides approaching more? i guess it may be a case of just do it til i feel comfortable approaching random people.. ? |

I'm not much of a dancer, so I haven't done this in a dancing-situation, but it should work. When a girl is either approaching you or looking at you on the dance floor, keep dancing, lower your head a little bit, look at her, spread your arms a bit and wave her to you. From there on, you can take her hands and move her in front of you and continue dancing, and be sure to lead once in a while. Focus on the dancing and having fun, not that she's a hot girl and what not. You're a good dancer (you lucky bastard), use it! |

Nightfox is right. You lucky monkey!!! dancing is possibly the best way to pick up. very few words, but all about body language. I say go dance like your life depends on it, and let the moves do the talking. |

Hey friend. You aren't the only one with this problem... Every PUA/AFC experiences AA... all i can say is don't think about it as much as you because you clearly put too much thought into it. remember... Whats the worst thing that can happen? it dosen't work, you go your seperate ways and you meet someone else... but you couldn't find out where it went because you didnt do anything about it, she could have been a really nice girl. Remember to learn from your mistakes and don't let them happen again! |

This doesn't sound like approach anxiety, specially since she approached you. Why did it freak you out when she touched ur back? She's basically kinoing you! Were you just nervous about what to do/say at that point? Anyway, I think you should have replied with a C/F line, like "Whoa, hands off the merchandise. Do you go up and touch strangers all the time?" OR "Buy me a drink first before you hit on me like that." Then you should stack to another thread after she replies...boom, the game is on and ur halfway in A2 of MM. |
