I am not good at telling stories, therefore i have a hard time moving into comfort because the delivery of my stories are so poor that it makes me come off as low value. Sometimes when its really bad i'll loose my train of thought or stutter if i am trying to tell a story to a new person or a hot girl. What I am very good at is listening to other people and showing them that I actually am listening by giving comments or asking questions to keep them talking. Aslong as someone else is dominating the conversation i can keep it going by giving small input. I notice that all alpha males talk a lotttttt and tell story after story about everything. All i can do is listen and comment. i want to get better at telling stories and sharing my expiriences so i too can prove alpha status right now my whole social ability consists of me just asking questions about the person i'm talking too. once they answer, i either give a small comment, or ask another question. I rarely if ever try to tell a story, just cuz i c&b my stories all the time. I know its important to have a couple good stories to have memorized for back up, but i also want to be able to tell stories about other things, like what happened during my day. there are guys who have a story about everything. with every question they are asked they have a long detailed response, which makes them interesting. I've had a couple C&bs since istarted college simply because i havent been able to tell any good stories. Therefore, i can never move past attraction. even tho i have a hard enuff time attracting as it is. |

First and probably most benefical for you would to be join a public speaking club/group. It is all about just being able to talk and be confident while doing it. Ofc, i understand that this may not be a possiblity for you. If you cant get in a group then your only choice is to practise with real people. Build it up, forget trying to talk to HB's for a while and just talk to everyone, yep, that old granny that just walked past your window. That crazy ass friend ur sister has everyone! Now, talking to everyone is fine but you need to have something to say, especially stories in your case. There is only one simple way to have storys and thats to go out and do stuff. I am not talking your weekly shopping, unless ofc you do something exciting when u get it. I am talking take up surfing or quad biking something that is exciting to people and a little bit un-common. Remember, only by living a full life can u have loads of interesting things to talk about. Madals |

well i'm new to this but if i may be so bold, the best way to tell a story is to write it down, this is esp true if you get little ideas throughout the day. if you're shy then write it on your PC so you can delete it as soon as you're done with it. this will catalyze your ideas and give you focus. then just play it in your head/talk to yourself in private untill you're ready to unleash it...maybe its bullshit but i do hope it helps...good luck |

Ohmblack that is very good advice.They always say your crazy if you talk to yourself,but what I have realized is you wont feel intimidated by talking by talking to yourself.So just do what Ohmblack said right out a story and read it over and over to your self infront of a mirror,now if you live in a dorm and you dont want to have your dorm mates hearing you talking to yourself,turn the radio on..You will overcome this man.. |
