Ive been getting this a lot. I go in with a routine openner and just get blown out right away. It been giving me AA and am getting even more nervous to approach.

What I want to know is how do I get past the shield? If I do an openner and mess it up and she gives me a bitch attitude, how do I recover?

Last Sat- I saw this cute HB 8.5, the exact kind of girl i go for. I hesitate at first, so i figure I should do practice set on another group. The girls I target are dressed in the same outfits are drinking and making a lot of noise. (I was told it was a batchelorette party) I go up to one of the HB's and say

Omega- Why are you girls wearing the same outfits? Are you competing in the Olympics? (Not the best opener, but it was on tv at the time)

HB- Yea were competing in the olympics (really annoyed)

Omega- What sport? Synchronized Swimming?

HB- What are you doing? (Even more annoyed)

So I just left the set and and didnt even attempt with other HB set that I really wanted to get into.

Your delivery might have possibly sucked. :?

Try working on your delivery and IMO ditch the indirect openers...direct openers work best, but make it sound genuine...

Might be high risk for some, but it's high reward and if you get good signals you're in straight away...and that cuts out gambits etc because there'll already be an element of attraction, so you build on that and run rapport.

But i'd advise you to use time constraints in your case.

As in REALLY quick time constraints literally you going in 2 mins.

Hmmm, it's a bit hard to judge without being there, but from what you describe it sounds like you blew the opener, rather than the girls being bitchy. I'd say wandering into a set and commenting on everyone's clothes like that was really obvious - so it displayed lower value. I like Style's advice to provide a root, and a time constraint.

Time constraint: Something that makes it clear you're not gonna hang around all night and be annoying - also demonstrates value by implying you have better things to do. e.g. "Hey, I've got a quick question for you guys..." or "I just have to find my friends, but before I go, I couldn't help noticing..."

Root: Something that explains why you're making the approach, so girls don't blow you out by saying something sarcastic like "Why, are you taking a survey?"

Lol Great minds...posted basically what you said a minute early.
Bar the indirect stuff, but i don't know some people can pull off indirect really well...so i guess whatever he feels is best.
