Post subject:  First Day of Class Opener [Back to School Thread]

I'm headed back to the LAST first day of college for me (last semester -- I'm graduating!). I was trying to think of some good openers in advance to come prepared for the first day of class when I meet new girls. (I do have an AWESOME pick-up for a restaurant that I tested and #-closed with yesterday. I'll release that in another thread I guess).

I gathered this idea from this thread:
ohhh-my-funny-opener-vt26123.html

and revised it a little to work for me.

I come into class sit next to a girl (3-second rule) and ask her name.

HB: blah blah blah
ME: Where are you from?
HB: blah blah blah
ME: No, I mean I need an EXACT address. I'm the stereotypical guy here at *my college* and I like to stalk girls...
HB: hahahaha

I think that it might work because it cuts the tension with a joke and it's semi-situational because the guys at my school ARE stereotypically nerdy.

Does anybody else have good ideas for first day of class openers? I probably won't use any because my style is usually to go situational... haven't used anything canned yet.

I'll post more ideas when they come to me later today.

Just go up to someone and ask "Have you had this teacher before?" Either answer she gives you can have a good conversation. I would do some research on ratemyprofessor.com so you have something to talk about incase she's never had the teacher before

"you look like a smart kind of girl, Okay, fine I'll pick you, you'll do my homework for the rest of the semester."

I'm also about to go back to school and I want to learn more about campus/classroom game because that is something I really have pretty much no idea about. I'm 20 and I go to a community college that tends to have lots of anti-social people.

I was thinking one thing I could say in conversation is "Well, I'm one of those stereotypical *college name* guys that get nervous when sexy girls talk to them, so I probably can't speak with you for that much longer or I might start to get really shaky."

If she says something like "oh, you think I'm sexy, huh?" I could say something like "Apparently not enough, I'm not getting nervous yet." Good idea? Bad idea? Any additional ideas?

I like it. It severs the tension and allows you to move on with your next routine, as long as the girl isn't a closet case.

Thanks for the replies. UNFORTUNATELY there aren't any attractive girls in my first two classes (Monday). I'm HOPING there are some in my next three classes tomorrow. If not, there are TONS to choose from while changing classes, which is perfect because it sets up a time constraint.

I think this would work, but I wouldn't call her sexy... although your comeback is good, what if she doesn't choose that route? You've displayed interest by calling her sexy... I would just say: "Well, I'm one of those stereotypical *college name* guys that get nervous when girls talk to them, so I probably can't speak with you for that much longer or I might start to get really shaky."

By just leaving it at girls it shows you're different than other guys by making this joke. It can also insinuate you're not interested in her, but rather can talk to her because she's a girl and the other guys can't. I think that's what we should be going for here....
