Post subject:  How 2 Create Sexy Post Appeal

Some of you may wonder why you’re always having to double post
Or why your post read: written 2weeks ago 0 replies 12 views

Well it’s because your user name is unappealing, the title’s are unattractive and to top it off they contain un-interesting content. It may be forgiven once but not over and over again……

The Walmart marketing strategy for example: its much more pleasing to see and pay $39.99 vs. $40 because its more attractive people believe they’re getting a better deal even though it’s a 1cent difference they completely ignore the fact tax will cause the total price to be $42.57…….you sell for $50 and wonder why no one buy’s your product…..

I found an interesting link about name discrimination and how it affects over-all success
http://www.thedigeratilife.com/blog/ind ... l-success/

Its sad the way the world works but its true seeing/hearing a name can invoke thoughts positive, negative, a sexy girl, a nerdy guy, exotic, a confident person etc. even child hood memories.

When I see user names like “TotalAFC” or “ImaCompleteNoob” they trigger “failure” to me. There’s no pride in names like those. I don’t see those names as someone who can help me sometimes I wonder if the advice I might give them will go in one ear out the other so a lot of the time I don’t even bother. You can’t change your real name(well yes you can) but for this forum Make it a memorable name

Good post Reo. I think people can learn a few things from this, cause topic titles do have a huge impact on whether people are going to bother to do any more than just glance at your thread and usernames will affect how people treat you, even whether they think you're gonna listen to their advice as you pointed out.

Another important factor in getting responses, is to post in the proper section, so something like this belongs in the Newbie Section, not the PUA Lounge, as it really doesn't deal with PUA stuff too much (other than that little bit of inner game that comes from the value of a label).

P.S. A name is a powerful thing, you'd be amazed how different a person treats me between when they are calling me Rye, or by my real name.

Not if people keep talking on this thread. I think it's a good one. I also agree with Rye Lee's call on moving it to Newbie Questions because the guys usually posting here should totally read this.

My real name is pretty common and I never really liked it for that very reason. It made me feel like less of an individual. I also associate my real name with some negative feelings because I was a complete wbAFC before I took on my PUA name.

I feel like when I tell people my real name, people are like "Oh, another one. He's probably like all the rest, too." However, when I tell them that I go by "Chief," I feel like people recognize my individuality more. It also compels people to treat me more like a guy who knows what he's doing, which I think is a big part of my personality.

I always skip the commonly named threads in this section of the board like "help i have oneitis," but threads will ALWAYS grab everyone's attention when the title is SEXY... maybe like "My oneitis did WHAT??" I just thought of that one off the top of my head. It's sexy as a thread title because it's makes you curious about the story.

To be honest, though, the username on this forum doesn't affect whether or not I read their threads. I look at thread titles.
