| Post subject: | FR: My first field report |
Hey Guys, i haven't got 30 posts yet so can't post in the field report section bt i hought i'd post this here as i'm a newbie and could do with so critisim. So...I went to the mall today for a bit of shopping and thought i'd work on my game. i've never really used a canned opener before and usually use situational openers but i thought i'd give it a go. First Set: I approached a two set. Walked from behind to get ahead of them and lent back over my shoulder. Me: "Hey Guy" Them: "uhh...hi" Me: "I've got to meet some friends in a second...but my buddy's girlfriend is planning on having breast enlargement surgery for his birthday. He does know about it and i don't thing he's going to be very happy. Do you think i should say something to her?" (credit to savoy - from "Magic Bullets") Overall i must admit this was said a little two quickly...but on the whole was said reasonably loudly and clearly Target: "umm...i don't know" Me: "Well you see the thing is, i think her real motivation is that her sister has just had her breasts done. And as sister they've always been really competitive. Would you change your body out of jealousy?" Target: "No" Me: "oh right" They were very short with their answers but by this point both the target were facing me square on and seemed engaged by the opener. At this point i rolled off...went to walk away i took about two step and turned around...a which point they were both facing me. Me: "Are you two best friend?" Them: look at each other "yeah!!" Me: "I can totally tell...you make...the exact same...facial expression" I timed this perfectly and said it very slowly with pauses and was very effective. Them: look at each other and laugh At this point the set was going ok...but from here it went down hill...i started to speak much quicker and began to stutter a little. I then went into the "good girl - bad girl" routine which didn't go well and the target said Target: "i don't that would be a good idea" I think this was a shit test (but tbh she was only a HB6 so i was like wtf??) Not realising it my have been a shit test i was said Me: "yeah you're probably right...you'd probably be rubbish at giving advise" I sort of agreed with her...but still managed to Neg her. I then turned to the obstacle and said Me: "Is she always like this?" - Neg Obstacle: "yeah/no" i don't remember tbh...wasn't that important I then Started to try and DHV which was just aweful...it really didn't go well...i was umming and arrhhing...stuttering all over the place. I was speaking increadably fast at this point and could tell that i was starting to go red in the face I hadn't lock in either which made me feel even more uncomfortable standing in the middle of the mall with people walking past...this didn't help either. When i was telling my DHV story it felt really try hard and i felt as though the target and the obstacle could smell the bullshit coming out of my mouth. After this i was like. Me: "So.... There was a small uncomfortable silence. THis is were i think i should have done maybe the ESP routine or some other cold reading routine...but to be honest after my attempt to DHV i felt arkward and as though i wanted to leave the set. Target: "well we better be going" - pheww Me: "Yeah me too...nice to meet you" Second Set: I was at the bus station and a girl was sat in front of the sign. (she was part of a two set with her friend) So i went up to read it. Her: "Sorry, am i in the way" Me: "yeah...move your hair out the way" I stood and looked at the sign for a few seconds with a confused look on my face. Her: "are you ok?" Me: "not really...i don't get it...help me find the time for the next 76 bus" A bit of a compliance test and sure enough she helped find the next bus but came me the wrong time...stupid girl...but i knew this wasn't right. Her: read the bus time off the notice So i took a seet next to her...but a few seconds later a third friend joins the group and within about 30 seconds of being in the set i had an external interupt After a minute or two i turned to her and said. Me: "are you sure you've given me the right information?" Her: "Yeah" Me: "hope you're not a liar" Obstacle: "I wouldn't believe her" Me: "oh...is she not to be trusted??" Her: "oh thanks" A fourth person entered the set and i did deal with them either so got locked out again this was annoying lol, especially because the target kept giving me non-verbal IoI's. But, I couldn't re-initiate the conversation. So i pulled out me phone and started playing on that. Any Critism?? Or suggestions please?? |

Well, the opening conveyed too much interest. Why are you talking to them. No apparent reason, so you must just be another guy hitting on them. Next part; Quote:
Me: "I've got to meet some friends in a second...but my buddy's girlfriend is planning on having breast enlargement surgery for his birthday. He does know about it and i don't thing he's going to be very happy. Do you think i should say something to her?"
Good job with the time constraint. The whole routine should have started here. Now, I don't know, but walking up tot hem and talking about boobs might not put them to ease, try a safer one, like "what should I get my sister". Always start "Can I get your opinion on something".Quote: At this point i rolled off...went to walk away i took about two step and turned around...a which point they were both facing me.
Brilliant, make them chase you!Quote: Them: look at each other "yeah!!"
Great! Although I haven't seen many negs yet...your increasing your value, but not lowering theirs.Me: "I can totally tell...you make...the exact same...facial expression" I timed this perfectly and said it very slowly with pauses and was very effective. Them: look at each other and laugh You started to stutter, this is a mistake, but understandable. It was going well, its your first time in a set, pressure cranks up. Next time it will be slighly easier. Quote: Me: "yeah you're probably right...you'd probably be rubbish at giving advise"
Woops, you changed your mind to agree with them which is a DLV.Quote: Me: "Is she always like this?" - Neg
A classic, here's the neg I was waiting for. However, always like what? Was it grounded in current events, or just chucked in their. A better one, in this case could be "eww, you spat on me, gross!"Quote: Pleasure to meet you
Good finish. Overall not bad, I think the pressure got to you though. I would have number closed personally, or at least got a kiss on cheek before they go. Just point and say"kiss me goodbye". Why get the kiss on the cheek? This would have raised your confidence. SET 2 Quote: Me: "yeah...move your hair out the way" A neg, great! Don't make them too hurtful it might warn them off. A neg should make them self concious, not hate you Quote: Me: "not really...i don't get it...help me find the time for the next 76 bus"
Now, I can see why you did this...but a opinion opener would have done a better job, rather than one that lowers your value. After all, a alpha male should easily be able to deal with the trials of the bus time table,. If he can't, how can he possibly bring home the bread? This isn't concious thought, but subconsciously she now knows your not alpha. You got the neg in, a better one this time, playfully testing her honesty. Brillaint!. Overall, it was going fairly well until the 4th person came in. This is why you isolate! Do this by offering a palm reading, or something that requires you to sit alone. Aks her pals if "you can borrow her for a minute" then initiate it. From there number close or kiss close, or instant date. On bus, numberclose would have been best, but circumstances vary. Great start, keep reading, keep testing, there will be pua out of you in no time |

Yeah dude, great stuff if you're just starting out. I remember stuttering in a couple sets when I was starting off, don't sweat it. Eventually you're going to see why that opener about breast implants is pretty silly for a day game environment, you're going to realize how to just relax and go along with the flow in a set, you're not going to need to rely on routines that other people wrote, and you're going to see "obstacles" as CHEERLEADERS. If you want this thread moved to the Field Reports section, just say so. |

Thanks for the replies. I forgot to mention this was probably most scary thing that i've ever done in my entire life. So at points i think i did DLV just through sheer social pressure. I did throw the neg out a bit randomly purely because i knew i had to get a neg in somewhere and this was the only one to come to mind at the time. Quote:
Me: "Is she always like this?" - Neg

Do you mean by saying "Hey Guy"?? and that i should go straight into the routine?? I know that this probably isn't a suitable day-game opener but i don't feel completely comfortable using direct openers i think that it conveys to much interest. What sort of openers should i be using for day game?? do they have to be direct or are their suitable opininon openers?? Lastly are there any books available specifically on day game?? |

You should just say "Hi, I need your female opinion on something. *Blahblah...*" Direct openers are great for daygame, but it really doesn't matter. I just personally use whatever opener just pops in my head. Don't know about books tho. Great start mate |

good stuff man. Something i find really important that your forgetting to do, is announcing that your asking them something. You just said "I've got to meet some friends in a second...but my buddy's girlfriend is planning on having breast enlargement surgery for his birthday. He does know about it and i don't thing he's going to be very happy. Do you think i should say something to her?" Its creepy that you just basicsally showed up and began talking. always say, "hey, girls, help with something....." "can i get your opinion on something?" "hey, i need some female criticism..." Otherwise, good stuff man! |
