thats my biggest problem, my brain freezes whenever im trying to talk to a girl i like and i turn into a dumb piece of wood standing there not knowing what to do or say, and even when i say something it sounds stupid (coz im forcing it out) i guess its the fear of rejection/humilation, coz when im not trying to pick up somebody im just a normal guy and i have no problem in expressing mself so the question is simple, how do i get over this fear ? i know its not going to be easy and it would require lots of work but im willing to do it, just tell me how do i start peace |

What you are experiencing is common approach anxiety and then numb mouth. I have found in my own experience that "dumb piece of wood" feeling is ego based. Your intention is not congruent and you are feeling out of sorts when you are in a set. To get over this know who you are and develop a VERY strong identity of yourself. Your mindset/intention should be to go over there and just see what they are like - have fun with them - play with them they are there for YOU to screen out (this is your mindset) not the other way around. If you have a strong identity and a mentality that you are screening out them on your terms your numb mouth will free up. Know who you are, what your intention is and have fun. |

The "freeze" is where canned material can come in handy. Pick just a couple of routines that you will memorize and use in EVERY set for a week or two. Be willing to lose a few sets for the sake of improvement. After practicing them for a while, put them on a cheat sheet and then memorize one or two more. Pretty soon you will have a whole arsenal of cool things to say. |
