I have an accent when I speak. I'm starting to worry that it's messing up my game. Is it DLV to have an accent when you speak?

No at all.

the questions is do you FEEL it is a DLV because then it becomes one.

Most people find me more attractive because of my accent, I know other people who have it the same way.

AFC Adam,
I agree -- in fact, I'd prefer to have an accent, because it gives your target an excuse to give you an IOI.

"That's a cool accent, where are you from?"

Alright thanks. I have an asian accent and I really want to get rid of it. It's not something I noticed until I recently heard my own voice played back to me on a recording.

I was wondering if I should take those speech classes and try to get rid of my accent or if it's not worth the hassle.

I can't imagine having an accent being a benefit. =\

I always subconsciously automatically think higher of people who speak naturally.

If it is a heavy asian accent you might want to clean it up a bit for reasons above just getting girls. But as the two above just noted it only becomes a DLV when you believe it is a DLV.

In the end its all in how you present yourself. If you smile when you have your asian accent.. that would probably make it a good accent. HAH simple as that.

if they cant understand you then you need to fix it. if they can understand you then you are golden!

try watching movies where the star is an asian.. with an accent. you can emulate or use them as a model if you want. think of jackie chan or bruce lee or any other asian.. (sorry they are just kung fu guys my brains tired)

I definately speak a lot clearer than jackie chan. It's not that bad, it's a very suttle accent but it's still there. I just want to know if the advantage is bigger with or without the accent, because I can easily lose the accent if I start taking those speech classes. Thanks for the input. I'll definately try to keep those things in mind. :)

Practice talking slower and deeper. This will help both with the accent and making you look a lot more thoughtfull and attractive.

I myself have a heavy accent that I used to percieve as a DLV in my AFC days. Now I've turned it around and made it one of my most powerful hooks. Girls will hear my accent and want to know where I'm from, thus starting a powerful routine. I've had girls come up to me and say how much they like my accent.

Just find a few routines and lines that will help. Blame the girl for paying more attention to your sexy accent then to what you are saying, the results of this will surprise you.

Accents won't give you a huge advantage, but it will certainly give you an advantage never the less. Something you may want to do is to learn at least some words in the language your accent is from if you don't know any words from it yet. The only problem you may run into with an accent if you haven't already is people speaking to you in the language where the accent comes from. But I don't really see that as a downside really. More of an upside if anything.
