Right, personally i dont see how it is differnt to just thinking of it as an opener, neg, DHV etc etc. But tbh, its a good comparison and if it helps you understand then its good. Might help other people.
Actually thinking about it you could use it as a memory aid in the field. Like send urself a text saying "have you played with the dog" as you are nearing the close. It gives u an exuse to stop and think, and therefore make sure u are taking all the steps you need to in order to make it a sucess
