Ok so I was thinking about this the other night I will do my best to explain it.

Ok so playing fetch with a dog first you must get them interested with the activity think the opener.

Next you must throw the ball and have the dog run for it. Think kind of like the attraction. An IOI would be when the dog actually brings the ball back or trys to keep playing with you.

Next you know when you pretend to throw the ball and the dog looks towards where you threw it think of this as a NEG.

By having the dog always bring the ball back to you, you are DHVing because the dog realizes that it must do what you want.

When you stop playing with the dog it brings the ball back and trys to get attention think of this as another IOI.

Also when you pet the dog it becomes very happy think of this as kino. The more you pet the more it wants you to pet it.

The dog is then tired of playing and wants you to pet it some more while it rests think of a closing.

I dont know if this even makes sense but It did to me so I thought I would post it. Tell me what you think.

Right, personally i dont see how it is differnt to just thinking of it as an opener, neg, DHV etc etc. But tbh, its a good comparison and if it helps you understand then its good. Might help other people.

Actually thinking about it you could use it as a memory aid in the field. Like send urself a text saying "have you played with the dog" as you are nearing the close. It gives u an exuse to stop and think, and therefore make sure u are taking all the steps you need to in order to make it a sucess :)
