ok, im 18 and have for the first time in my life successfully grown a goatee, and i love it, a have a bunch of friends who tried to grow stuff and failed horribly. is having a beard going to severely hold back me learning game? also if i do decide to shave it, what do i say to the girls that i met with a beard? most of whom them say to shave it... is that an ioi? or a shit test?... or both? does it show confidence? that i can wear one? at my age, or immaturity? |

It's a contravertial subject. Some PUA's claim that you shoul ALWAYS be clean shaven and that you're hiding if you grow a beard "DLV". You said it's just a goatee so I dont imagine it could be perceived as hiding anything but a weak chin. Its not origional enough to be used for peacocking so I'd lose it unless it makes you more confident because none of your friends can grow one. Feeling HV is progress to BEING HV. How long is the goatee? Groom it if it's more than just stubble. you don't want a rats nest! Keep it neat and hygenic. Kepp it stubble maybe for a display of testosterone while simultaneously keeping a clean look. If it's boosting your confidence then keep it until the novelty has worn off. Don't purposely bring a target's attention to it as this would be a :need for attention" DLV. It's a shit test because you probably asked them how it looks. Again, thats DLV though general female consensus has a no facial hair preference. |

ok, what about the girls who keep telling me to shave it i feel like there saying *i would date you if you shave it for me* so when i think its like that i go on to discribe how im going to let it grow long and braid it like jack sparrow if a girl says randomly in a conversation "you should shave that off" is that an ioi or some kind of elaborate compliance test? |

Thes particulars are beyond my expertise and we're not in the same generation "I'm 33" so i'd be interested too if someone else can answer you who has played the field a little more. I'm an aspiring N00b here and was telling you the rules from a society perspective and not a PUA's. I'm interested in the answer too because I have a stubble goatee and my sister always says "you still have that goatee?, shave it clean" From what I've learned, you should NOT shave it for the sake of your target. It's very LV. She's perceive you as weak for compling. IOW, a shit test though she might genuinely not like facial hair. |

I think you should post a pic of yourself (not just a head shot, at least down to the waist) and that will make it a lot easier to tell, cause facial hair is just like anything else, it is circumstantial. Long hair is great on some guys, incredibly horrible on others and doesn't really matter on others. Some guys can wear leather jeans and they look fucking amazing, other guys look aweful, so you can't outright say that leather jeans are good or bad, because it depends on how they look on you and same goes for your beard.i feel like there saying *i would date you if you shave it for me* so when i think its like that i go on to discribe how im going to let it grow long and braid it like jack sparrow if a girl says randomly in a conversation "you should shave that off" is that an ioi or some kind of elaborate compliance test? From how girls are talking to you about it, either you are not confident enough in your ownership of your beard, they aren't old enough to appreciate it cause as you said you're still in highschool, or maybe you do look bad with it. You may look wicked with it though and they just don't appreciate it and because you aren't confident enough in it, they think they can get you to shave it and they would prefer that, but it's not about what they prefer, it's about what YOU prefer (as long as you don't look really bad). Like I said, post a pic and I'll let you know what I think and you can place however much value you want on that. I've gone shopping with my female friends and pick out clothes for them, as well as consult them on hair styles and the same with men, so I have experience and also have a goatee myself, which I have been told works very well and the ladies love it. |

It seems to really just depend on the guy. Some guys look great with stubble, some guys look great with goatees and some guys only look good when they're clean shaven. Some guys really need beards to compensate for having boyish baby faces (i.e. me). |

Something I'm not aware of here? I have a young face too "33 and can pass for mid 20's" but have embraced it as a positive attribute. I have a stubble goatee only to subterfuge a weak chin/ slight overbite. It's contradictive that alot of chicks say they want a "man" but damn near every male model I see looks boyish or metro. I'm looking an abercrombie/fitch bag right now that my new shirt was in. It has a male model imprimted that obviously shaves his chest and armpits. /end thread hijack/ |
