| Post subject: | Doing the alone thing at a club |
The last 2 weeks, I've been going out alone to bars and other environments in order to get used to not having friends with me for crutches. Not opening sets, just relaxing, starting random conversations, and avoiding alcohol. This in preparation of tonight (Friday night), when I plan on actually going to a club by myself, staying sober, and opening sets. The reason this is a bit of a big deal for me, is because my old game consisted of the following: Enter the club with friends (the most peacocked, of course), stay attached to them, drink till I'm red in the face, and let nature take over. The success was, well, minimal (a few number closes, occasional hook-up, some flakes, etc). But no more. This time, I'm doing things the right way (and from now on, I might add). So given the dynamics...I'm nervous, but still looking forward to it. Does anyone have some advice for this scenario? My general game plan, is to go in looking nice (a flashy item of course. probably my trademark black fedora. lol), keep my body language as relaxed and alpha as possible (which I've made good progress with), and try not to let the fact of being alone get to me. I plan on sarging my ass off and having a lot of fun in the process. No pressure, just fun. |

You don't have to stay long, just go in there open 3 sets and walk out. I sometimes stay for less then 20 minutes, and come out with a number or two. Then just capitalise on the number and do something fun with the girl. Your thinking about it as if it was a big deal, its just a club! and if you feel like its not your place, then go to a pub or a quieter night venue. There is no rule that you must practice in a club. Sure its good it conditions you, but there are plenty of other places! and a quick stop by would never hurt. Maybe even go in early, do a 6-7 pm thing! There is this preconception that you go at 8 and finish at 4am.. that’s just not the case. Ask yourself what you want to do. Your not competing against anyone, your simply running your own life. |

Damn. Thanks for the sense slap. lol. Never thought about the 20 minute thing, but that's why you have the chick kissing you in your avatar and not me. lol. Clubs are my thing, I'm just not used to them sober to be honest. I'm breaking out of being "the drunk friend who never D.D.'s". |
