| Post subject: | fuck VH1...but thanks(no sarcasm intended) |
So i used some canned openers today at the club and I decided i would approach a group of women solo without my friends (to work on AA)... Ok so I approached the group first with simple "how are you guys doing?" then i set up a fake time constraint and i asked the simplest of openers "who do you all think lies more men or women?"...LOL apparently my friend had approached them with the same line earlier because i told him to go try it out ...I dont think it mattered much though because they still talked to me..they asked me why my friends didnt come also...etc.. etc.. one girl quickly nominated herself as my target due to her eagerness for my attention...i negged her on being rude and THIS IS WHERE the beauty happened and the epic shut out... The girl i negged instantly seems drawn to me and all the other girls in the group are as well...except for ONE girl she asks me if ive seen VH1 and how theres a show on TV and that i remind her of the guy, i think it's Mystery, on there...then proceeds to tell me im not fooling anybody etc.. etc.. she turns and walks away while her friends seem like they dont want to leave....my target,s body is faced directly towards me and she hesitates there, but eventually follows her friend off... So...now I will try to create my own openers and i cant believe how well it was working...and thanks Mystery for being a sell out |

If you noticed, she was still interested despite what her friend said, which I'm sure she believed. She was interested, because she didn't give a shit what the lines were, she was glad that you had the balls to come talk to her group and she found your personality interesting. The words are merely a means of conveying your personality, that's it, they are in large part meaningless! If you had just owned it, told the girl that you had or hadn't seen it, but showed her that you didn't care, then she would have had no power. Sure, she may not have been interested, but her friend wouldn't have left just because of that, she would have given you a chance anyways. I often tells girls straight up what I do, that I teach guys how to interact with women and that I go out sometimes as many as 6 nights a week in order to do so myself. They don't care, they don't give a crap if I'm doing stuff that I have all calculated out in my head, just how to stand, just how to crack a joke, when and how to touch them. None of that shit matters if you are confident in yourself and you let them know that you're a good guy just out to have a good time. They'll commend you on having the balls to use a line in order to talk to them, because there's 100 other guys there that night that wouldn't be able to approach, even with the lines. |

Well, that's what you get for using one of the most popular openers instead of coming up with your own. Don't get mad at Mystery for it, it's not his fault. Common sense, man. |

They were airing the show again over here on MTV again. It kind of got me worried but then as the guy above said its only a way of conveying your personality. As long as it does its job and opens then it has worked. Gotta thank Mystery tbh. |

i didnt go up there expecting it to work or anything...so i just used the most common one...some how i had ZERO approach anxiety and i was sober it was pretty awesome that it all flowed so well...im not mad at mystery but it is selling out...if his goal is to help guys then it's counter productive to air a show on the channel that has one of the highest women population of viewers. Im not mad at him and i expected that that COULD happen i just never expected it WOULD. i actually walked off and told them to have a nice night smiling with my head high..it didnt phase me at all i was just shocked at how the target reacted to me |

So let me get this straight. You go out and use material somebody else invented and get caught doing it, but yet he's the sellout? |

Selling out refers to the compromising of one's integrity, morality and principles in exchange for money, 'success' or other personal gain. It is commonly associated with attempts to increase mass appeal or acceptability to mainstream society. A person who does this, as opposed to following the original path s/he laid (or claimed to lay) out for him/herself, is labeled a sellout and regarded with disgust and immediate loss of respect. Selling out is seen as gaining success at the cost of credibility. I'd hate to post DEFINITIONS of words since you obviously dont have knowledge of what selling out actually means...i in no way am "selling out" by using a QUESTION that HE DID NOT INVENT...it's a question that has been asked probably millions of times before Mystery was even born...you would have been more correct to call me a poser or wannabe, but you would still be wrong in that i ONLY used it to approach them, to work on my AA, and after that it was all me continuing the interaction because after the opener i had nothing planned. ...well he's doing a REALITY SHOW, which predominantly women watch, on a channel mostly viewed BY WOMEN...why is he doing this? IT'S FOR MONEY, dont be ignorant. And dont get me wrong...i would love to be able to do what he does but seriously maybe you should get off his nuts and admit the obvious instead of trying to suck up to the community. and Dalziel, im not mad at Mystery this post is not completely Negative, i was actually GLAD that it happened, and I KNEW it was a big possibility. All in all, I learned something from it and isnt that the point of failure? The fuck VH1 part is just a joke...and no disrespect to you because you do always give good advice on here |

Since when did VH1 become a female majority watch channel? If anything its a mix sex channel. Now if Mystery went on E! or Oxygen, then you have no argument from me. |

Never ask ANYONE "do you got a problem with me", or any variation of that, because it invites them to have a problem with you. It's like walking up to a girl and saying, "You look really bored." She's just gonna say, "Yep, I am, go away." "Why would you say something like that?... do you got a problem with me? Did i offend you somehow..." If you propose a mood/feeling to someone, they're most likely gonna feel it and respond in kind. Be careful with your wording. |

His goal IS to help guys improve with women. Sure making money while doing it is a perfectly reasonable goal as well, but don't think that that means that the VH1 show did nothing but make him money.Aside from the book The Game, the VH1 show The Pickup Artist, has probably caused the biggest growth in the community EVER. That means, more men, learning how to be better with women. Sounds to me like he's doing just what someone with the goal to help as many men as possible achieve success with women would do. I can understand the guys that say they wish less guys knew because it makes it easier on them, but then I'll just say, "Well, it would be easier on me if YOU didn't know either. It would be great if I were the only person on the continent with the knowledge, I'd be set!" But then again, how would I have found out about it? I know there are many guys that are around from pre-The Game and they say the same thing, but unfortunately that's how I found out about the community. So I'm not gonna be a hypocrite, I'm just gonna be thankful that men are learning how to be better with women and that I can pass on my knowledge to them. I'm thankful that I have the ability to think up my own stuff and I don't use material made by any well known guys, I generally don't use stuff created by anyone else period. Learn how to do that and you'll be happy for your brothers instead of resentful of them. |

Some great advice in here, but basically, you had to own the situation. I've had someone mention the show to me and i've quickly asked if she thought i was as good as the guys on the tv show and if she thought i could get my own show. If anything, the friend bouncing first, could've worked in your favour as you would've then had your target alone. |

yeah i realized that afterwards as my target was lingering around me for a second...she didnt want to follow her friends and all i had to do was probably take her hand and borrow her for a "second" |
