I don't think I put this in my introduction post, but I had recently just broke up with my girlfriend (I thought she was the one). It sent me into this downward spiraling breakdown and I had lost a lot of confidence. So as a confidence booster my buddy and I have challenged ourselves to approach only 5 people per day. I opened a three-set and a two-set today in the mall. Just to approach, open, and leave (baby steps). I used an opener that I had taken from a friend of mine and whoever said that a cell phone is the best wing is completely right. I pulled out my phone and checked my notes and made it look as if I was texting, put my phone away and walked up to the three-set: Me: I need a female's opinion on something... Girls: Sure, what's up? Me: My buddy is in Victoria's Secret trying to buy his girlfriend some lingerie for their anniversary next week. He can't remember her size, so he's thinking about buying a size that might be too big or a size that might be too small... what do you think he should do? Girl1: What size is she? Me:How the heck should I know? I made it up... She's about your size... Girl1: Buy a size 5 Girl2: How much is his budget? Girl3: not saying a thing anyway, so they get to talking about it and i think i let that conversation go on too long. I even negged one of the girls until I found out she had a husband and kids that she was about to go home to. I negged Girl3 about her nails but then I couldn't think of anything else so I just said that I need to go to VS to save my friend. As I was walking out, I heard her say, "Yeah, you should go do that." The two-set kinda went the same way too... This is a huge step for me and my heart is still pounding from the adrenaline and nerves. What could I have done better? |
