Ok, so in my age (turning 21 on Saturday) the main pick-up place would be a club, bar or pub. In my vicinity, a lot of people have had their lives ruined by alcohol, and as such I have taken a stance to not drink. I simply don't want to end up like them. I follow the lifestyle called Straight Edge. Do you guys think this will affect my range of pick-up places? Do you think I should hit the bars/pubs anyway and stick to cola? If someone asks, I can respond with "I'm here for the nice company" or similar. ~ Nag |

I'm livng a straight edge life too for the most part. I'm only 18 so I can't drink anyway, but when given the opportunity I don't for personal reasons. I would need to have certain things for me to let myself drink. Anyway, I don't really see it affecting where you sarge. If anything, when you do drink that affects your sarge because you can't think clearly. You can always go to a club or whatever and get a soda, and just say its a drink. Or if you uncomfortable with lying, just tell her that you don't like to drink. Remember, if you're okay with it then she will be okay with it. And Happy Birthday! |

Do what you want. Just bear in mind that if you're drinking coke out at a bar it's gonna cost you bigtime. Over here I'd pay £2.80 for a pint of cider or beer and a small glass of coke is usually around £1.80 or something... to put things in perspective, you can get a 2ltr bottle for less than that. Most people are happy to spend £30-40 on a night out because they get drunk and get to let their hair down and go wild... do you really want to spend all your money getting into a club and buying overpriced soft drinks? A lot of girls will think you're weird aswell, but those girls can go fuck themselves if they can't respect your life choices. On the other hand, you do have an advantage over everyone else in the club. I've done bar work and been around party girls while stone cold sober, and they're very easy to get the upper hand with. Very easy. Drunk people can be irritating when you're not drinking aswell, so keep that in mind and don't let anyone get on your nerves. You're gonna need to be in a party mood cos girls are gonna be pretty childish and they'll have a very weak attention span. |

Whats wrong with moderation, it's possible to have a drink and not get drunk right? I hate drinking, I hate what it does to people; and I hate the feeling of being inebriated. But I still enjoy a cocktail or pint of cider when I go out. But on the question: if you're straight edge, fine! It's not your problem to change, you could portray it as a DHV in resisting temptation by willpower. As long as you don't let it bother you, it shouldn't bother her, and if you do hook up with some one and she splits because of a non-boozy relationship. Then she obviously wasn't worthy enough for a controlled and high quality guy like yourself. |

Please note I'm complete amateur of game. But I'm sxe for few years. I had heavy drinking period before it so I know both sides of coin. It can be easily turned into advantage - DHV right ? - just to display strong will and appear weird in interesting way. And also can help create funny situation when ordering you shot of orange juice and so. Just my 2 cents. Offtopic : are you also vegetarian/vegan ? Here is sxe usually associated with this. |

I would need to have certain things for me to let myself drink. You need to be 18 to drink in a pub, bar or club here in Sweden. but you need to be 20 to buy alcohol in the liquor store. Quote: You can always go to a club or whatever and get a soda, and just say its a drink. Or if you uncomfortable with lying, just tell her that you don't like to drink. Remember, if you're okay with it then she will be okay with it. Yeah, I prefer the honest approach. I see no reason to hide it Quote: And Happy Birthday! Thanks Quote: Just bear in mind that if you're drinking coke out at a bar it's gonna cost you bigtime. A coke in a bar or pub costs 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of a normal beer. So I can get away with far less cash to spend on myself. usually, the entrance fee is more than I spend on drinks Quote: On the other hand, you do have an advantage over everyone else in the club. I've done bar work and been around party girls while stone cold sober, and they're very easy to get the upper hand with. Very easy. It has both good and bad sides, I guess. The alcohol would help one to relax and loosen up, but it would also help one to forget the game and steps and opening lines and whatnot. Especially for a newbie like myself who doesn't know all of it by heart yet.Quote: Drunk people can be irritating when you're not drinking aswell, so keep that in mind and don't let anyone get on your nerves. Indeed. I usually find drunk people to be ridiculous and annoying. But that's mostly when I've been dragged to the pubs against my will. If I'm there to have a good time, I think I'll be able to ignore most of it. Quote: Whats wrong with moderation, it's possible to have a drink and not get drunk right? Good that you brought it up. As far as I have seen, most people in my vicinity have said that they are not going to get drunk, only drink a bit to loosen up. Once the first drink hits their system, they lose judgment and keeps on drinking until they can't stand up anymore. I'm not sure I would be able to limit myself to drink moderately once I start drinking a bit. Which is why I have decided to not drink at all. Quote: if you're straight edge, fine! It's not your problem to change, you could portray it as a DHV in resisting temptation by willpower. As long as you don't let it bother you, it shouldn't bother her, and if you do hook up with some one and she splits because of a non-boozy relationship. Thanks. really comforting to hear. Then she obviously wasn't worthy enough for a controlled and high quality guy like yourself. Overall, would you recommend me to go sarge in malls and the like more? After reading The Game 8well, I'm halfway through it) it seems as clubs, pubs and bars is the main spot to practice this art form. Quote: Offtopic : are you also vegetarian/vegan No, full-time carnivore. I've said no to drugs, smoking, alcohol and snuff. Also lowered my caffeine intake. ~ Nag |

Thats brutal. Here in a bar, a pint of anything (domestic -importts) is 6-8$On the other hand, you do have an advantage over everyone else in the club. A glass of pop is 2$ or less, and you have free refills at most places But on topic, its fine to not drink, if someone asks you just say "you dont drink" or "your dd". You dont need to explain yourself unless they keep nagging for a reason, so have one ready |

I've been thinking, do you guys think this could work as an opinion opener? Nag: "Hi girls, I need your female opinion on a thing. If you met a guy who did not drink, would you say it is lame to go to a bar and not drink, or cool to resist the pressure?" Something like that. ~ Nag |

Why not try malls and shopping areas? I think you will have to have a major focus on day game. This way a girl won't know whether or not you drink until she really gets to know you. By then your choice to drink shouldn't matter because hopefully she will have some kind of a connection with you. |

Staying somewhat sober while drinking isn't really that big of a deal. Its all about strong will. Just because your friends don't have very good self-control does not mean you don't either. I'd say you deserve a night out to enjoy yourself. Now you may think you enjoy yourself when you don't drink, but if that was the case you wouldn't have posted this thread. But hey, its up to you. Drinking isn't an all or nothing thing, the buzzed grey area is the best place to be in (in my eyes). |
