Hmmmmmm...

Just pondering on how to approach this...

Here, lets start with self...

If you can laugh at yerself then you can build a sense of humor...

You see, a sense of humor is based on wit and the ability to improv...

Telling jokes is not having a sense of humor, yer just telling jokes then what?

So what I suggest, would be this...

Take a look at yer surroundings...They type of people it attracts, the clothing they wear, the style of music, all of this can be good material to build off of...

For example, say you go out with a buddy who invites to a house party of some sort...

You get there, the party is going pretty good, there are HB'S all over the place and say you spot one cute bird by herself...This is the time where you observe yer surroundings, look at her from head to toe... Lets say she has nice curly hair, a sexy top, some tight jeans, and some crazy looking red shoes... You approach her like so...

YOU: DO YOU KNOW THE DJ?
HER: DJ?
YOU: YEAH, MY FRIEND SAID THERE IS A DJ AND HE'S LOOKING FOR THE DJ...DO YOU KNOW THE DJ?
HER : DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS A DJ HERE...

Now if the music is good, you talk about who ever the DJ is, is doing a good job... If the DJ sucks then you talk about how the radio would be a lot better...

Nine out of ten a house party will most likely have just a radio playing random cd's... So you can say shit like...

HER : DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS A DJ HERE...
YOU: YEAH THE DJ IS CALLED (RADIO STATION, MAKE OF THE RADIO, ETC.)
HER: LOL...
YOU: NICE RED SHOES YOU HAVE THERE...
HER: THANX...
YOU: IF YER GETTING BORED YOU CAN TAP YER HEELS THREE TIMES AND YOU SHOULD BE HOME IN NO TIME...
HER: LOL, RIGHT...
YOU: WHATS YER NAME?
HER: MY NAME IS ...
YOU: YER LYING, YER NAME IS DORTHY ISN'T IT?
HER: LOL, NOT ITS NOT, MY NAME IS ...
YOU: OKAY DORTHY, IF YOU WANT ME TO CALL YOU... THEN I WILL CALL YOU...
HER: LOL, THANX...
YOU: SO YOU KNOW ANYONE HERE?
HER: BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH...

From here you should have broken the ice...Remember to kino a lot...
Always have a smile brighter than the sun, and just try to come off as relaxed as possible...It's not marriage, its having fun...

If you know any real funny jokes do so...

Remember to keep eye contact, and make sure you laugh with her...

BUT DON'T TRY TOO HARD, JUST RELAX K?

not everyone is built for cocky funny, not everyone comes stock with that off the cuff witty response to everything. my suggestion is to watch comedy routines on tv. pay attention to the structure of the routine as well as what they're saying. they have a very circular pattern to them, bringing previous jokes back to add to other jokes later on. find a comedy club and frequent it. it's a great environment to meet people, as well as study comedy. but don't try to be the comedian if it's not who ou are. find out who you are and make that work for you.

Yer right, not every one is cocky funny...

But, the reason why most AFC's fail at even making contact is because they don't try...

Try something that isn't you, if you like it, work with it...

If yer shy you should try cocky funny, its all about doing what yer not use to...

i think laughing at yourself is essential. if you take yourself to seriously you will inherently fail. however dont do what i used to do and that is self deprecate too much - play the loveable loser card - because it doesnt work. girls thrive on a confident man!

There's a book called Comedy Writing Secrets by Melvin Helitzer which is really good. I'd suggest that you give that a go...
