In order to anchor good feelings in the girl, would I just be telling her to tell me about things that make her happy? and describe them?

so that she recalls them in her head.

or is there more to it then that?

Anchoring is - as the word implies - anchoring to something.

You might use words like "What would it be like if..." or "Can you imagine what it would be like if we had known each other for a year", and while she imagines you say "you know that feeling of comfort" and while she imagines you hold your palm facing upwards and lifts it up slowly. You might also say "Does the feeling lift you up? *you nod*", "you get that warm feeling of comfort don't you?". The hand lifting up now signifies that, but you need to reinforce it a couple of times, hard to get away with subtly.

Anchoring needs her to connect a gesture she does, or one you do with something positive. And then you might trigger that feeling by doing the gesture or having her do it.

I hope this helps you. Consider reading the book "Sleight of mind".

Touch particular body parts (elbow, shoulder, etc) when you make her laugh or smile or w/e. Remember what you touched so you can trigger the anchors on command. Also, remember to anchor positive qualities (about other people or things) to yourself by pointing to yourself or touching your chest.
