Hey! I've been trying to scramble together a few wingmen to go out gaming with, but it is more of a hazzle than a benefit most of the time, so it is starting to dawn on me that I have to do this alone. Now I'm trying to put together a list of useful tricks to get into the zone when daygaming alone. I found one trick that seemed really useful, and that is to have a conversation with yourself on the phone pretending there is someone at the other end, just to get used to hearing your own voice out there alone. Please post me more tricks like this and I will be very thankful |

Adding a few things on my list: - walking into a few stores trying to strike up a short little conversation with the people working there - smile and give compliments to old ladies "hello, nice hat!" - talking to random dudes - smile and express friendliness and openness to as many people as possible - and from gestalttherapy there is a self-therapy exercise I've found really helpful, and that is just acknowledging by saying it out loud whatever I'm feeling, ie, a prevalent feeling when I'm daygaming is feeling utterly lonely and without any friends whatsoever (not true at all but it feels that way when daygaming or going out alone) and like a total creep and stalker of random woman walking around. So if I can formulate that into a sentence starting with "I feel....." my experience is that that is creating acceptance and calm around that feeling and giving space to more feelings of confidence and clear-mindedness. - also I like walking into art galleries and chat up the people working there - seeing the whole experience as a great chance to get to know my city better, ie, when I was into photography I liked the added perspective of seeing my city as photographer walking around looking for interesting things to capture instead of just rushing from A to B like most people, now I have the chance of viewing city life from a daygamers perspective. - keep myself motivated by the fact that the braver I get at daygaming the braver I'll be at nightgame, and vice versa - basically whatever it takes to break apart this "fearful looser narrative" and re-build it into being a courageous pioneer on a fun and exciting adventure. - remind myself "if you want something done right do it yourself" - remind myself that the more I get used to doing this alone, the more I can go back to my normal social life, and just have this as an integrated part of my life that smoothly blends into everything else. |

Went out today for a walk in town, but didn't really have a clear intention about daygaming, so I didn't approach any. However, my social circle game is getting better, as now I have 2 coffeehouses and 1 store where female friends are working and their female friends gather and I'm getting to know all these girls. I consider places like this my "social water holes" where I can go alone and mingle into the group. Also I bought some new weight training equipment for my strenght training routine I've been doing for 2,5 month now (strenght training is like really seriously one of the best things that has ever happened to me!). And I bought some tiny hand-held discoballs with light in them that I'm going to try out tomorrow night going out with my new wingman. It might perhaps be a fun way to open sets with. My new wing is the most dedicated pickup-dude I've met so far because he just came home from bootcamp, and he seems like a really nice, varm, well-dressed, and socially well-adjusted dude, so will be fun to see how it goes. |
