Guys i'm a bit afraid to approach on streets...not afraid of rejection or ignorance as they don't matter, but afraid what if the girls cries harassment and complains to cops or her parents/brothers/boyfriends/husbands and i get arrested or beaten? As we know some people just don't know the difference between approaching and harassment and one complaint can ruin your life.Is my fear unfounded? How many people have experienced this?? |

Yeah. I get it. Women totally scream harassment when a man smiles and says hi. Christ. |

I do. But you don't. You're making it sound like: "Guys should I ever leave the house? What if a brick comes loose off the roof and hits me in the head while I walk out the door and I end up dead or in a coma?" Explain to me how saying "Hi" to a cute girl will lead to her crying out harassment and the cops getting involved. |

Not just hi but usually I like opening with “Hey I just saw you from over there.i think you’re cute so just wanna say hi” Now this line can be interpreted in a negative way too,and that’s what I’m a bit afraid of.You're making it sound like: "Guys should I ever leave the house? What if a brick comes loose off the roof and hits me in the head while I walk out the door and I end up dead or in a coma?" Explain to me how saying "Hi" to a cute girl will lead to her crying out harassment and the cops getting involved. P.s. pls don’t recommend indirect openers, for me they don’t come off authentically |

Just have common sense and you'll be ok on the streets. Dont be overly aggressive or touch unless you see clear signals its ok (thats why clubs were advised for new guys as you can get away with more and learn how to read signals with less chance of trouble), don't follow women waiting to approach them and give chicks space. Some will say feminism will get security approaching you...its not really that. Today a loner guy doing something suspicious or acting weird in a public place is going to get security watching you or coming up to you...as people are more afraid of shootings or attacks and a guy by himself acting strange is a bigger red flag. Oh and be polite/respectful at least somewhat. Ive seen day game videos where the guy is reapproching the same chick and jumping in front of her when she walks off blocking her path. That = harassment. |

That’s the best reply I got, thanx neo.One query though, you said not to follow women. So I shouldn’t approach walking sets and only approach stationery ones??

I get what he is saying actually. There’s tons of articles and people discussing street harassment in the wake of Garvey Weinstein allegations opening this floodgate of accusations. France is preparing legislation that would give men citations for hitting on women, which is so far very vague and almost sounds like an attempt to criminalize heterosexuality and masculinity. That being said... OP, most of it is overhyped because feminists like to talk about this sorta stuff online. I’ve been around for years and never been arrested, never been kicked out of a bar, no accusations of sexual assault. I’ve been. Allied creepy sure, but that’s not illegal. |

A cute girl spots you and stares you down with a wanton look. I'ma go run and hide in the corner....doesn't compute. |

That = harassment. If you're worried about street harassment, truth is, it is widely misunderstand and has no bearing on sensible pickup. Street harassment laws, even in the strictest nations is concerned with catcalling, groping strangers in public unwarranted and propositioning sex acts off the bat. There is no country banning, or talking about banning going up to a woman on the street and introducing yourself or saying I thought you were cute so wanted to say hi. If you go up to a chick in some countries and "I want to fuck you" yes, you could be fined or jailed...but i dont know why you'd approach like that. Same if you're catcalling or grabbing women at the supermarket. The actual laws are pretty clear with what describes "harassment" and there's a clear line between what a typical street approach looks like and what a harassing one looks like. France:' Quote: The Guardian reported that fines could be around $6,000 as "a deterrent."
Portugal:
“You are a woman in an underground train. I am a man. I follow you. You get off the train. I get off. You get on another train. I get on too. I ask you for your telephone number. I ask again. I ask a third time. You feel oppressed. That is street harassment,” Schiappa said, according to the Times of London. She said there was a gap in the law between “consensual seduction” and “sexual assault,” and that flirting would remain legal. “Talking to someone and asking for (a number) will not be considered harassment,” she said. Quote: But the amended law has its limits, Leite explains. “Not every comment is a crime; it has to have sexual context or a pornographic reference. Saying that someone is pretty doesn’t count.”
US:
Quote: In Alabama, it's a misdemeanor, punishable by up to three months in jail or a $500 fine, to make an obscene gesture toward someone.
The term street harassment is vague but the legislation is clear, as legislation needs to be. There is no law against approaching women respectfully or giving compliments. If you're worried about street harassment, you're approaching in a very offensive way. You wont find one case of a guy being arrested for telling a chick she looks cute, or alot of the shit under the street harassment umbrella because the laws arent concerned with those things.
In Hawaii, it's a misdemeanor for anyone to repeatedly communicate with you after you've told that person to stop (up to $1,000, 30 days in jail). In Illinois, intimidation is a felony (up to $25,000, 2-10 years in prison), meaning a street harasser can't say, "If you don't give me your number, I'll..." In Iowa, it's considered an assault if a street harasser does anything — following you, verbal threats — that seems intended to cause you fear of injury or offensive physical contact (even if that contact doesn't actually happen). |

I watched that "street harassment" video and in 10 minutes counted one legitimate case of harassment. The guy followed her asking "can't talk, I'm too ugly for you?" Just don't be that guy. |

Sounds like fear to me. You're being a bit dramatic. If you walk up to a woman and say "hi" and she screams " Police" and you walk away and tell the cops " I just said hi, she was cute, and then I walked away and left her alone once she screamed" what do you honestly think they're going to say? If you're not touching anyone there is no harassment. Street pastors are screaming at people on the streets. Just start saying "hi" say Hi to one hundred women over the next 2 weeks. Once you see theres no screams for police that will give you the courage to take one step forward. But don't sit on your ass worrying; at least do something. |
