Ok, before I send this out, I wanted to run it by you people to see if it's all good. I've made some email blunders in the past and would really rather not mess another one up. Following some of the advice I've received here already I came up with this for an HB I met the other day in a coffeeshop: "Hey HB, I'm going to be working late at the local coffeeshop on Tuesday evening. You should come and join me afterwards for a cup of something stimulating at 7:30pm. War" Good? Anything more I should add? |

Yeah, that's fine. I think the actual David Deangelo saying is "a cup of coffee and some stimulating conversation", so you're pretty much right in accordance with a guru. Other than that, if you've got something cocky/funny to say, maybe related to when you guys met, you could always throw that in, too. That way, your making her smile, and reminding her of how she knows/met you. If you're not confident about it though, then just leave the email as is. |

Wicked. Bricool --I'm not an employee at the coffeeshop, I just go there to do my work --something her and I had talked about when we met so she knows the score. Element --ya, I know, but I didn't want to use it verbatim in case she's heard it before. At the same time, I'm a little too unsure of myself to start ad libbing ...so, I bastardized DD's line. Also trying to make it congruent with how I really talk. Thanks for the reassurance. The message has been sent --I'll let ya know how it turned out. Oh, yah, any good tips for a successful first date? |
