| Post subject: | Stood up last night - kind of crazy situation |
Hey folks, Here's an interesting situation that's driving me crazy. I'm completely puzzled as to what may have happened but would like to know if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions on how to move forward. I met this girl about 2 weeks ago, very attractive, interesting, and fun. We talked for a bit and I got her number. We then went out for drinks a week ago and really hit it off. We chatted for a while, she was quite charmed by me and my humor, I kino-escalated and we ended up making out by the end of the night but she didn't come home with me then. The text right after the date was: "You are so much fun. I can't wait to see you again". Over the past week we have continued to message back and forth and had agreed to meet again last night. She continued to say how excited she was to see me and messaged me 2 hours before we were supposed to meet confirming the address. As I walked to the venue, I was just thinking on how to close the deal. I get to the place and wait for 10, 20, 30, 40 minutes. No sign of her. No messages of any type. I messaged her at the 15 minute mark (with a "hey") and did not hear back. Messaged her again at the 35 minute mark ("Thought we were meeting at the lounge. Everything OK?"). I left and went home at the 40 minute mark after I finished my drink, upset and incredibly confused. I pinged her again this afternoon asking if everything was OK and I have yet to hear back. At this point I have no clue of what happened. I have never been stood up before and I most definitely did not expect my first time was going to be with a girl who I made out with, who showed tremendous interest and excitement to see me, and who messaged me 2 hours earlier to confirm the date. I have been running a ton of scenarios in my head ranging from "something horrible happened to her" to "the girl is married and her husband just found out right before she was coming" to "she met Ryan Gosling on her way to the date and they eloped" to "she somehow met another girl I have gone out with recently and they are now plotting how to murder me" to "she changed her mind and went batshit crazy in the 120 minutes between confirming and the actual date". Any thoughts here? I'm thinking that I will give it a couple of days to see if she replies explaining what happened - maybe message her again after a week or so (mostly for closure, if she doesn't reply with an excuse I'm pretty sure this is dead). Thanks folks |

Why? She has your number and she knows the address. Act like it means nothing to you.Quote: Messaged her again at the 35 minute mark ("Thought we were meeting at the lounge. Everything OK?").
Needy. Quote: I left and went home at the 40 minute mark after I finished my drink, upset and incredibly confused. I pinged her again this afternoon asking if everything was OK and I have yet to hear back.
Needy. Don't do anything. She either has another guy or is testing you. It's also possible she spotted you at the address, then bailed before you could see her. She was on the fence, obviously. Remember, this is a girl who you only kissed, not a love interest. Act accordingly. |

yup, she was just having fun, got caught up in the moment, and got cold feet when she was about to meet you. this is not about you, so move on. We men are not capable of understanding the inner life of women you have a right to be a bit upset, but get over it soon... |

Sounds like a rebound girl. I've had a few in my days. Confusing at first. Now, I don't mind. It's good sex. |

How did you justify waiting past 15 minutes? |

Doing that just lowers your value. It tells her you can't even handle a schedule.

I mean things like that usually aren't a big deal until you've stacked a few on top of eachother.I will tell you something a girl once told me: women do this all the time. Out of a desire to not appear bitchy they will play along with the idea of meeting up right until it comes time to actually show up. She will talk to you, give her phone number, answer texts and calls, and even make plans. This woman explained to me, in detail, how a guy once hit on her at a bar, asked for her number and did just what you are describing. When I asked her why she didn't just tell him from the start that she wasn't interested the response was "I didn't want to look like a bitch." She never considered that she was lying. |
