2 unrelated questions 1) I have been looking to buy a car. but you know, lets be honest here. I won't use it. I don't go anywhere. where the hell am I gonna go if I had a car? and twice a week I'd have to move it for street cleaning, too much of a hassle. and there is registration, insurance, smog check, and possible tickets. on the other hand, maybe subconsciously the reason I dont talk to girls is because I dont have a car. here in LA, people think you're retarded if you dont have a car. so maybe subconsciously i am thinking "i cant take her out, so whats the point?" remember that latina that was confusing me for someone else? she told me in text "if you dont have a car, i cant go out with you" should I buy a car? 2) isn't freedom from social judgment a little dangerous? for example, when you go to the store, part of the reason you dont steal is because of the possible social embarrassment. if you dont care, then wouldn't you lose control and do some dangerous things? for example, wouldn't you run into traffic, because you dont care about the judgment of other people? |

Why buy a car if you don't need it and won't have much use for it? I doubt the only reason you don't talk to girls is because you don't have a car, in terms of night game, the only way they'd really find out is if you told them. I don't remember the Latina girl as I'm new-ish to the forum, she'd probably chosen another reason to reject you but the car excuse was the easiest. She could feasibly have said something like unless you have a BMW don't text me. One rejection isn't worth spending thousands, is it now? No reason to put a girl on a pedestal who rejected you. Guys with barely two pennies (dimes?) to rub together manage to get some women, so a car wouldn't be that much of an issue. I guess at the end of the day, it's your money, but I think there are deeper issues than the car from reading this. |

I'm in LA and I have a car. When I go out with women, normally I meet them someplace if I can't get them to come over straight away. For the last year, I've hardly driven myself anywhere for a date and just uber everywhere. No girl really asks if you have a car in LA. It's just usually assumed that you do. It's normal for girls to meet a guy somewhere on a first date, so plan something that way. |

great, since you're in LA, you know what i am talking about when I say people assume you're retarded if you dont have a car. No girl really asks if you have a car in LA. It's just usually assumed that you do. It's normal for girls to meet a guy somewhere on a first date, so plan something that way. the problem is, i hate uber. it's really not economical to pay $20-$40 every time you wanna go out. and my issue is not just money, i just hate the idea of getting into a stranger's car. it's just weird, i dont know. but i suppose both of you being in the back seat allows to build some intimacy. so can i get away with not having a car? let's say on the first date we meet at the coffee shop and the car issue never comes up. then what? where would we go from the coffee shop and how? |

Uber/taxis = booze involved Car = no booze involved That's how I think about it. I live in Boston proper and I still have a car. It's America. You have to be specially carefree and/or a clueless consumer not to have one. The best value or stuff isn't going to be available around the corner always. |

With good reason. Keep on pretending to be civil and politically correct. If you surround yourself with idiots they'll buy it.

then I am trying to figure out how you get around when you have a girl with you. do you just walk? do you take public transportation?do you live in romania? is it acceptable there to take public transportation like the bus or the train? here in LA, it is not acceptable. if you tell a girl you take the bus, she will assume you're homeless or some kind of a loser. |

Could you not just set meetings up near your home? It's obviously easier to invite them back if you're closer to them. |

Personally I uber most of the time. Alternatively we have another app but instead of having someone drive you, you just "rent" the car yourself. It's called getPony. You just walk up to a pony car, unlock it using their app, drive wherever you want, park, lock the car with the same app and be on your way. You can find/park them in any public area around town. The only down side is that you actually have to walk to car and they're not always in your immediate vicinity, as opposed to an uber that will come right to you. Also alcohol. |

The reason I don't walk into traffic isn't social acceptance, it's that I don't wanna get hit by a car. Dude you are trying really hard to justify a decision. Also in terms of getting laid one of the last things you need to be thinking about. |
