So, I'm Italian. Our culture is very strongly pro "man has to pay on dates". Many of my female friends say that if a man made them pay if they say to split or pay, they would throw the cash on the table and then leave. I understand the whole avoid paying, ecc, and I agree with that (you need to see the woman investing as well and not be bought with money, ecc), but in this country this isn't something you can really do. Usually date after date with the same women I strive for a 60-40 balance (where I pay most of the times but she sometimes split or pay the whole thing). But at the beginning, it's just a no-no to let a woman open her pocket. What should I do. |

I always pay a first date. Then any girls with common sense will either get the after drinks or the next one. Good way to screen too. Who told you not to pay on the first date? |

LOL. You'd be surprised about that common sense bit. Plenty of girls around here that think girls have a monopoly on feeling special in western culture.Who told you not to pay on the first date? OP even in my thread in the PUA lounge I say I pay for the first date. After, like R.C. said, either the girl was raised right and offers something or she thinks she is some savior and thinks I am supposed to wine and dine her. Even then, as long as there is some reciprocity and she is someone I don't mind paying a little bit for, no harm done. |

Like I said, good way to screen.

A walk in the park for a first date should solve all of this shouldn't it? Your first date should be screening for you to see whether or not the girl is someone worth your investment whether that be time or money. Why not go for first dates and second dates in areas that don't involve you spending much of anything. Coffee, tea, walks etc. |
