We've all been through this, boys and girls LOL.

Man: "Hey, when you free? Maybe we could meet up."
Woman: "Next weekend."
Man: "Cool, let's keep in touch."

Vague. He half asses his invite, then wonders why she flaked.

Man: "Hey, I'm going to Bar X tonight, if you wanna join me :)"

This won't get you anywhere. Shows lack of interest.

Man: "Hey, wanna come over? I've got beer and Netflix on :)"

Who does that on a first date? This screams hook up.

Man: "Hey, I'll call you tomorrow before our date okay?"....but never does.

Calls back 2 days later giving lame excuses.

I agree with most except number two where he just extends an invitation to said bar. I used this plenty of times just to keep on the radar of women I haven't yet attracted. Doesn't always come to fruition but I managed to get them out eventually. This also opens an avenue of teasing them the next day for not being there.

I hate #2 the most. It's like the guy's saying, "I'm interested, but not interested enough to set up a date and time and who cares if you do or don't show up."

Be a man. Saturday night, 7 PM, at Bar X, how about that?

^ that works if the woman likes you = attraction and comfort. It doesn't work if you haven't established it yet. She will flake.

I actually agree and don't recommend this.

Guys, if you wanna ask her out set a clear time & place. Keep the activity vague if you it to be more surprising, that's up to you.

There's a lot to be said about generating feelings of desire in women.

Often time if they're on the fence about you, if you hit their desire buttons they'll be receptive to your invite.

Show some effort in planning something, or at least establishing a meet-up time that shows interest rather than "hey I am heading to x bar come by and see me".

I like this one for fence sitters:

"Bar X, 10pm. Dress hot".

They'll think, "who the fuck does this guy think he is?", but it shows leadership and snarky humor, both things that point to a guy who knows how to have fun with women.

You have to get to the point with fence sitters. Women are extremely wary of men who waste their time. I've heard this kind of behavior specifically called out by women amongst their friends many times. "he took up too much of my time", etc.

OP, thanks for showing some examples of things men have said that have NOT worked for you. I and many others would love it if you posted some more examples of things men have said to you that actually worked, too :)

Or fuck her when you meet her rather than taking a number and trying to set up a formal date a week later. Bad idea.
