So I know what affirmations are. I've searched the net for different ones. What are some good affirmations for pick up? |

Numerious studies have shown that affirmations are mostly BS. Instead of standing infront of a mirror and talking to yourself do some stuff that matter: - Go to the gym - Eat healthy - Write down your goals - Make a plan for thosr goals - Take action Doing the above will do you a world of good. |

Affirmations are bullshit. What little legit research there is on the subject generally conveys that telling yourself something in the mirror only works if you are already of above-average confidence. If you already have that, you don't need affirmations. It's major autocorrelation. |

Stop talking to yourself in the mirror and actually do something. Standing in he mirror at the gym and telling yourself how jacked you are doesn't do you any good. |

So most of you don't believe in affirmations? The concept behind them seems logical. You repeat some beliefs to yourself until you actually believe them. I'm taking it you're all telling me not to bother with them due to personal experience? |

Yeah pretty much. If I tell myself I can bench 300 pounds and attempt it, I will kill myself. Telling yourself "you're worth it" to talk to a chick is nonsense. The better way to approach it is how come I wasn't worth it in the first place? Why is she even on a pedestal if she hasn't even contributed anything to my life. |

Yeah, that makes sense, even more so than all the prior comments, thanks. I appreciate it when people are straight up honest. |

Lots of things may seem logical but really arent; hence we have logical fallacies.I cant speak for the others but I'm telling you they dont work because scientist have done studies on them and concluded they dont work. |

Affirmations is ok... Having an awesome life is better. Fixing a life is a loooong process and takes EFFORT. Evolving is a must for EVERYONE no matter how awesome you think you are. Try reading stuff that helped me: Hagakure Sun Tzu - Art of War RZA - Wu Tang Manual Way of the Peaceful Warrior (also a movie if reading isnt your thing, called The Peaceful Warrior) |
