What's the attitude, especially among succesful PUAs, on not wanting kids? I've heard of guys in their twenties or thirties who get vasectomies because they don't want kids. Is this common among PUAs? This sort of contraception (pill, coil, etc) is seen as a girls thing, but I'd be interested to know if more men are starting to take control themselves. Or, does anybody here not want kids so bad, they'd get a vasectomy? Some girls I know, in their twenties with no children, are getting sterilised. Haven't yet met any men who'd do the same. -- In the interests of full disclosure, I'm working on a project in the UK about this - just sounding out opinions. |

I think most decent surveys in the US point to about 90% of the population still as wanting or having kids already. You should be able to find something similar for the UK - just make sure it's a broad enough survey, preferably done by seasoned researchers. Read the original. I personally want kids - sometime sooner rather than later (early to mid 30's). I'm 28. I suspect some people are simply too immature and don't have their shit together to see themselves having to raise kids. Too bad. Hope you can afford elderly housing and care. |

I don't want kids, but honestly fuck the autoregressive post above me equating children to a retirement plan. "Oh you don't want kids that's a negative take on you as a person!" Fuck off |

The main reason I don't want children is because I want to travel the world. Not possible to do when you have a family and you are not rich. |

I never said it was ALWAYS a negative take. Hilariously, given your butthurt reaction, I can only imagine what I said struck a nerve for reasons applicable to you. Why be so negative towards a different life choice? It would be great to hear WHY you made this different life choice - that's the real key. The guy who posted after you at least made an attempt to do it. I'm willing to wager that there's going to be some strong positive correlation between "I don't want kids" and the PUA community. And when ~90% the US population wants kids... but only say 75% of the PUA community says they do (or some amount notably different... after a point the magnitude of difference becomes irrelevant), you've sure got some interesting connections to make between the differences in mentalities there. |

I want kids but not until I am ready. I am loving the lack of responsibility when it comes to taking care of another human. Not because I am not mature enough, it's because it is my choice. |

That's you and I on that boat, and a hell of a lot of others, too.

I actually want a kid(preferrably a boy) but I also don't want him to grow up poor like I did. So won't happen until I have my priorities straight. |

Never ever. I travel too much and I still feel like I'm 18. The mother would have to be polyamorous, too. |

My reason not to have kids, skillfully put by Philip Larkin: They fuck you up, your mum and dad. They may not mean to, but they do. They fill you with the faults they had And add some extra, just for you. But they were fucked up in their turn By fools in old-style hats and coats, Who half the time were soppy-stern And half at one another's throats. Man hands on misery to man. It deepens like a coastal shelf. Get out as early as you can, And don't have any kids yourself. So I'd rather spend a lifetime of happiness and freedom with my partner, and become buddy with my friend's kids, teaching them one thing or two without being responsible for the one careless mistake that will screw them to grow up self-centered/sadistic/with low self-esteem. |

I am 37, not married, and have no kids. It is by choice. I have no desire whatsoever to have children. It's like goes along the same thinking as you must have a job and work 40 hours a week to be happy, you must procreate to be happy, marriage will make you happy. BULLSHIT! Know yourself and what you want out of life. You do not have to answer to anybody about your choices. It's just an opinion. Live life on your terms. |

16 years old here. Don't want kids. Don't even want to get married. People say it's too young to make a decision, but seeing my dad lose everything in divorce has sort of traumatized me. Thing is, I have aspirations to travel around the world. I haven't left Australia before. During my mid 20's - early 30's I want to work up some wealth, continue gaming, travel the world, see incredible things that I would've never seen in my life. These things are difficult to do when you have a wife and kid(s) with you. Honestly, I may change in the next 5-10 years and meet the girl who is right. But looking at the girls in my demographics, this is unlikely. Just want to go out, get bitches, be a sick cunt and live life to the max! |
